I’d like formally introduce you to whipped coffee, aka a Greek frappe, aka Dalgona coffee, aka LIQUID CRACK. Whatever you call it, it’s amazing, it’s delicious, & for the first time in my life I am a coffee drinker. This is the drink that converted me and I am never going back.
I have always thought coffee makes me shaky & anxious mess, so I avoided it… but now that we are on lockdown & an aesthetic at home beverage that would put a barista to shame entered the picture, I decided to give it a go. YES- this does give you mass amounts of energy, but I didn’t feel shaky or agitated or nervous. I also cut the recipe in half (one tbsp = one person, I made that half a tbsp for me) & it was PERFECT.
It fueled a weekend of completely going HGTV style ham on our garage, doing about 4 loads of laundry, installing a full tiled mirror wall in our house, & even giving the dogs a bath. Let’s just say, I haven’t had this much energy since I was in college & was prescribed Adderahl LOL.

HOW TO MAKE WHIPPED COFFEE
I did a TikTok on this whipped coffee, which you can check out here if you need a visual, but I will say… this TikTok was my first go around & it needed about 2 more minutes of whipping. Since then I have made this recipe every day & it’s been a fluffy whipped dream. An addiction. An obsession. I love me some whipped coffee.
INGREDIENTS
**this recipe technically makes enough for one person, but it’s strong… so we’ve been sharing this serving between the two of us over here & still buzzing.
♡ 1 TBSP INSTANT COFFEE: this is the secret sauce here, it HAS to be instant coffee of some sort (coffee grounds DO NOT work). I used Folger’s crystals & they were amazing. Someone messaged me and said whipped espresso gets even fluffier, and Nescafe instant coffee also works. Basically- whatever you can find in this apocalypse.
♡ 1 TBSP SUGAR: I used white sugar, coconut sugar works too.
♡ 1 TBSP HOT WATER
♡ OAT MILK: or whatever milk or milk substitute you like, oat is my personal fave!!
HOW TO:
1. combine instant coffee, sugar, & hot water in a small bowl/cup.
2. grab a whisk and/or fork & start whipping. If you have a handheld mixer- you can use that for an extra speedy whipped coffee. A coffee frother will only work for about 1 minute, once the coffee mixture gets thicker, the frother stops working. I use it to start my whipping & then switch to a whisk.
3. if you are whipping by hand you may need to go for up to 7 minutes, a mixer will go much faster, but the ideal consistency we are going for is a mix between marshmallow cream & peanut butter or a fluffy caramel cloud. Once you think you’re done & ready, go two minutes longer & then you’ll actually be done.
4. pour your milk of choice over ice & then spoon in your whipped coffee on top.
5. optional, but a nice touch: a drizzle of honey on top
