If you’ve been on Instagram/Snapchat/anywhere on the world wide web, you are wellllll aware it’s fashion week month.

WE GET IT. You’re #inbetweenshows at #NYFW sitting #frontrow. Loud & clear.

If you follow me, you can clearly see I am not there. I’m #inbetweenbloodymary’s, trying to beat the heat w/ my fan club (aka the three fans going full blast in my house #LOL), & drooling over my phone at all the fashion epicness I am missing out on.

So, why am I not there? Well, because it just didn’t make sense for me this year. I spent A LOT of time weighing out the pros & cons, considering my “yes man” ways, & consulting with my team (aka Zack, my BF). This was the reasoning we ended up with…

1. It’s expensive AF. Remember the chick on House of DVF season 1 who sold her eggs just to go? Sorry, but us ladies have a limited amount of eggs & I’d like to keep mine. Plus, I am in the midst of finding a new place to live, so I am trying to manage my budget for a move.

2. I waited too long, hence why it’s expensive AF. MY BAD 100%. Next year, I will do it differently. I figured I’d wait to get show invites before booking a ticket, but little naive me didn’t realize the schedule get’s released a week or so before the shows & the invites come in after that. I did get some cool invites, so I started researching flights, but that late in the game was just $$$OUCH$$$.

3. I’ve made prior commitments in my hood. No, it’s not front row at fashion week, but it’s still cool. Follow along on Snapchat (Fashionlush) & Instagram to see what I’m up to, you need a break from all the #NYFW pictures anyways.

4. My BFF is home from Australia, & I haven’t seen her months. Friendship trumps all.

So, when push came to shove, this just wasn’t the year for me (although I did get to go to CPHFW which was amaze). Next year for sure, but for now… I’ll just sink into a slight depression for the next few weeks while all my peers head to Milan/Paris/London. Have some gelato for me guys.
