Hey guysss! Missed you all after the long (but much needed) weekend.
For the holiday, I really stepped out of my box & went CAMPING.
Yes, believe it, cause it really happened & this post is proof.
For anyone who knows me, I am much more the “indoorsy” type, so throwing this girl in the middle of the woods w/ limited WIFI for her first time tent camping was a realllll experience… to say the least.
We saw waterfalls, we hiked 4 miles (quite possibly longest I’ve ever walked in my life), played sketchy campfire “games” (i.e. throwing a machete at a tree, which was actually super thrilling), bird watched, ate a “hobo breakfast” (google it, so bomb!), made s’mores, & just chilled the eff out with good old mother earth.
Did I like it? YES x 100. By the end of the trip I was already planning buying a camper & heading out to Oregon. Just call me Annie Oakley, cause I am one with nature. LOL, who would thunk?
& in other news, more blog related… my computer is at the “doctor”. Luckily, Zack has a desktop he lugged over to my house, but it’s been rough. I am the first to admit, I am addicted to the internet, & being on a different computer is basically like living on Mars & trying to walk. Freaking impossible!!! I don’t have my files, my fonts (which is a big deal to me), or any of my PICTURES.
What does that mean for the blog? Well, bear with me this week. I plan to do the best I can, but honestly, even this keyboard is foreign & I can’t stand typing on it.
So, I’m signing off & going to twiddle my thumbs or sleep, because if I can’t work… I might as well get some good sleep for once.
Hope you all had an epic MDW & if you have any great camp spots, let a sister know cause I’m all about that #camplife!
x, E
the camp crew, who were the main components to such an epic trip & also super patient with me adjusting to the whole outdoorsy deal!
campfire conversations & s’mores were def. the highlight of this adventure!
stopped in the most charming city ever, Julian, on the way home for potpourri & apple pie! Could it get more American than that on Memorial day?
left to right: my hot camp host & wonderful BF | hiking huge/rocky mountains | shoes off for better traction on slippery rocks (after I already fell on my ass) | candy sticks!
& we’re back home, but clearly still in the camp spirit with my denim tux (chambray found here, softest/comfiest jeans ever found here, mules found here, cacti phone case found here)!
