Can you believe it’s already NOVEMBER?
I love love love the holiday season, but it’s really hard to get in the mood when the weather here is still stuck in July. FAIL San Diego, major FAIL. Rumor has it though, we’re about to get a ton of rain, which if you haven’t heard, we are in dire need of!!! Fingers crossed it gets here soon because I have a closet full of chunky sweaters waiting to be worn.
In the meantime, I am getting in the mood with tons of yummy smelling cinnamon candles, holiday music on repeat (Justin Bieber Christmas soundtrack to be exact, which Zack loves! LOL), & picking up a whole bunch of holiday decor from HomeGoods (best store ever!).
As for an update on the new house, we’re definitely getting there! It’s SO much work moving & I really wasn’t prepared for what I was in for. I lived in a studio before, so decorating a living room/office/bedroom/& kitchen has been interesting– especially having to consider Zack’s taste along with mine.
Let’s just say, I have learned a lot about the art of compromise, which is totally new for me considering I like things to be a certain way. For example, Zack is big into skateboarding, so when he wanted to display his skateboards, I almost had a coronary. We sifted through them, picked out the raddest black & white ones, and displayed them as art on the wall. COMPROMISE at it’s finest!!!
** if you’ve ever moved in w/ a BF & have any tips for combining tastes OR closets, let a sister know! I am having a hard time making room for his clothes :( **
Stay tuned for more home decor improvements & here’s some highlights from our Halloween weekend, which was thankfully super mellow (I’m way too old for those horrid Halloween hangovers!). x, E
» good news:: little one is finally adjusting to the move & starting to get comfy in our new digs. Isn’t she just the cutest?!! «
» checking one off the bucket list:: got invited to sit front row at the Madonna concert while taking over the Material Girl Snapchat. I took my BFF with me (my Mom) & we couldn’t believe how banging Madonna was looking at 57! Such a MADGEical night. «
» Halloween, from left to right: costume no.1 for the skatepark Halloween event (so cool watching the boys skate in costume) | Halloween themed macarons | Zack & I dressed up as Countess Elizabeth & James March from American Story Hotel (we’re die hard AHS fans). Loved being a creepy ass blonde for a night! «
» Sundays are for bluegrass brunch, exploring the new neighborhood, & major food coma naps! «
» took the new Jennifer Haley fringe bag for a spin, I am obsessed w/ how long it hangs! Striped dress found here.«
I totally agree with you it has been so hot here in San Diego! But thank god for last nights rain!
