So this weekend, two really exciting/totally game changing things happened to me.
Story time…
On Sunday Zack & I decided to get lunch at one of our favorite places, Sol Cal Cafe. It’s the raddest vegan restaurant & I had a major craving for their bomb avo toast (on the freshest gluten free bread!) .
Once we got into the area we realized there was ZERO parking & the only spot we found was pretty much 5 miles away. NBD, I had my eye on the prize (avo toast, derr.). Once we got on foot, we realized there was a hugeeee ass marathon going on through the city. We ended up walking alongside the runners, trying to find a place to cross so we could get to the other side and get my avo toast (did I mention I had a craving?!).
We made it to the finish line, frustrated to find we still could not cross the damn road. While we stood their trying to figure out our next move, we got distracted by the loud speaker.
“Here she comes, Harriette Thompson, 92 years old & running through the finish line! She’s about to break the world record of being the oldest woman to complete a full marathon”. Zack & I’s heads whipped around, we had to see this. As she ran through, charging actually, she was grinning from ear to ear. The confetti went off, the camera crews swarmed in, & people were cheering like crazy (us included). For five seconds I forgot all about my avo toast & just soaked in such a rad happy accident.
Harriette rules, & proved to me right then and there… anyone can literally do anything, & I damn well hope to be as cool as her when I’m 92. Now, back to the avo toast.
Things cleared up once the marathon ended & they opened up the gates. Finally, crossing the road.
We made it to SolCal & placed our order. When we went to set down, a girl came up to me, “are you Erica Stolman?”. Naturally, I kinda freaked… uh-oh, what did I do now? She proceeded to introduce herself (Alex) & simply wanted to tell me she is a follower of Fashionlush & that I have inspired her to stay creative and follow her dreams. I meannnnn…. I gave her a hug, told her she made my day (she did), sat down, & high fived Zack.
A high five because, in that moment, I felt more accomplished than ever. There is no better feeling than knowing that what you are doing is helping people stay inspired& follow their dreams!
Moral of the entire weekend, thanks to Harriete & Alex, never forget do what you love, do it with passion, & keep on keeping on.
Happy Monday guys <3

» I’ve been following the Lookbook Cookbook blog ever since it was born, so when Jessica (the girl behind the blog) reached out & let me know me a recipe book was on it’s way, I immediately pre-ordered it from Amazon. The concept, mixing healthy (gluten free & vegan) food with rad fashion, is total genius. «
