For the holiday we headed up to LA to ring it in with family, & I did my very best to disconnect. The host of the dinner, after collecting everyones phones (anxiety x 100), was very adamant we all just live in the moment.
Strange concept, right? I will admit, I am BAD with my phone. Probably would even be considered addicted. Who isn’t these days? Snapchat, Instagram, sharing every single detail of our lives, it’s our generations second nature.
I mean, even babies try to swipe magazines open like they’re on an iPad. It kinda makes me sad, even if I am a huge victim of it. I am so lucky to have you guys as readers & to have grown such a lovely following, so I feel this type of responsibility to keep updating everyone on the (sometimes silly) details of my life. What I ate for breakfast, the ginger shot of the day, recent shoe score, the list goes on & on.
Should I start weening myself from these bad device-obsessed habits? Would you guys be bummed if I were less connected all the time? Would I lose my following? Is it bad business to take some me time & just soak up what’s around me?
For me, the answer is simple, just let it go (to the tune of Frozen, naturally).
Every once in a while, for the sake of my health/well-being/relationships, I plan to let the battery drain w/o frantically digging in my purse for my backup charger. It’s not gonna be easy, but I feel that there is something really freeing about unplugging & being present with what’s going on around me. Ya feel me?
So, do guys ever get overwhelmed or fearful that you’re too connected to your devices? Do you take “technology sabbath’s” to keep yourself sane? Do tell!

p.s. IN OTHER NEWS, did any one see the blood moon eclipse Saturday morning? We set our alarms to check it out at 4 in the morning to check it out, & although it was tough dragging our butts out of bed, it was totally worth it! Such a site :)
