How We Set Up Our Registry + Our Top Gift Picks :)

If you’re looking for UBER traditional wedding registry advice, tips, or items you should ask for, I should let you know now, you’re in the wrong place.

For all the things wedding, I guess you’d say I am a bit non-traditional. I like to go against the grain in all aspects of my life, but especially when it comes to our wedding. I am terrified of becoming a basic bride & also- there are just too many “rules” to keep track of that don’t always make sense to me… so I’ve officially tossed majority of the rules/traditions out the window & am just kinda winging it.

SO…. while this might not be the place to come to for fine bone China recommendations, I have got you covered when it comes to things like a really aesthetically pleasing set of pots & pans, stylish coffee table books, and a foot massager disguised as an ottoman (Zack’s #1 pick lol). TAKE A PEEK at some of my personal favorite registry items (click to shop!), and read on for how we set up our registry + the only rule I followed… :)

As I mentioned- I am not into all the various rules I am expected to follow throughout this wedding process, but there is ONE registry rule I followed that I think everyone should follow & that is: 3 PRICE POINTS! I made sure there were gift ideas for all budgets, and that was super important to me. Some people are traveling a long way to come to our wedding & I don’t want them to think they have to give us some fancy gift. Their presence is our present.

Other than that, Zack & I have lived together for a long time now (5 years??) and we don’t need a lot of the essentials that a lot of newlyweds ask for- so we had a good mix of things we want and things we need. OH- and our wedding is very small, with a very small registry. If we had a bigger wedding, or if you do, you might be able to squeeze in a lot of those essentials (dish towels, bath sets, bedding, etc.).

As far as where we registered, well I like to make things as easy as possible for me and for others& I personally think registering at 5 different stores can be very overwhelming for your guests, especially when there are great universal registries out there!

We did the Amazon registry because you know that’s always easy for people and then we used MyRegistry for our universal registry. I actually started with Zola registry but switched over to MyRegistry because the Zola bookmarklet wasn’t working right. The bookmarklet option is a MUST because it allows you to pin items from ANY store on the internet.

OKAY- that’s the tea on our registry situation!! Let me know if you think I am missing anything good :)
