▸▸ Hey Lydia! I am so stoked that I, A. found you on Insty & B. that you’re on le blog today. Please, introduce yourself:
Lydia Kirwood: I’m an 18 year old blogger lady (check out the blog here) & recently moved to Byron Bay.
▸▸ What is the inspiration behind your epic style?
LK: The gypsy lifestyle inspires me both in fashion and in everything I do. I’m pretty non committal when it comes to having a certain ‘style’ of clothing, i just pick and choose what I like.
▸▸ How about your style icons?
LK: My style icons are Brigitte Bardot, Alex Spencer, Kelley Ash, and Erin Wasson.
▸▸ How did you get into the world of modeling?
LK: I had a few offers to pose as a model last year but turned them down as i was too shy/didn’t think anything would come of it. Now, i just see it as a bit of fun and a stepping stone into the fashion/blogging/styling industry. I get a lot of jobs through my Instagram & have recently signed with a small agency.
▸▸ If you have a shoot coming up, how do you typically prepare?
LK: Since I’m still a teen, my main concern is my skin. I make sure i don’t eat anything greasy and keep my face clean.
▸▸ What are some of the companies you’ve modeled for?
LK: I’ve modeled for My Sunday Feeling, Shakuhatchi, and done promo for Casper + Pearl and a few other brands. I also have a shoot with Everland Clothing coming up.
▸▸ Any tips for ladies looking to enter the big bad world of modeling?
LK: Starting out is always hard so be really aware of what your face is doing, I’m only starting out too so I don’t have many tips to give just yet!
▸▸ What’s your biggest beauty secret?
LK: I don’t think there are any secrets in beauty. A good diet and skincare routine always works.
▸▸ Speaking of beauty, I am a huge brow addict and am dying to know if you have any tips on how to get amaze brows like yours. Share, share.
LK: I’m a self confessed brow addict as well, always looking for brow inspo. I use an angled eye shadow brush, dark brown shadow, and NYX eyebrow pencil to shape and fill mine. I never wax mine, only pluck to keep them thick and precise.
▸▸ If we emptied your purse right now, what would we find?
LK: You would find a broken iPhone, broken Android, wallet, keys, and camera (not very girly).
▸▸ Favorite trends for Fall Summer 2013?
LK: It’s Summer here in Australia so my fave trends would be cork sandals, boho neons, and layered necklaces.
▸▸ The one thing every lady should own?
LK: Whatever it is she loves!!
▸▸ The most beloved item in your wardrobe?
LK: A plain white tank.
▸▸ Fave places to shop?
LK: I’m loving 2020 ave, Etsy, Dissh and Spell.
▸▸ Your top 5 Summer (cause it’s Summah time in Aussie- lucky!) must haves:
LK: My must haves for spring are maxi dresses, wedges, a jumpsuit, statement necklaces, and lots of crochet.
