OKAY- so first of all, I LOVE OVERSIZED T-SHIRTS… like way too much.

If I could wear a huge ass t-shirt everyday, I 100% would. I would rock ’em with sneakers, thigh high boots, fishnet tights, leather skinny pants, etc. etc. I know you wouldn’t expect a huge shirt to be chic, but it just is… atleast IMO.

The other thing I love, skateboarders (well, just one in particular **wink wink**)… & their trendsetting style choices.

I know I know, skateboarders everywhere just rolled their eyes back into last year. Skateboard culture appropriation is what they’re calling it, & I get it, but they can’t deny they are the trendsetters of 2016.

Listen, I definitely agree that Vogue’s ‘Skate Week’ is absolutely ridiculous. Sorry Vogue, gotta love you, but the headlines “an ode to great skate hair” & “here’s how to do skate style like a model” are pretty ridiculous (this article sums up the ridiculousness pretty well)… but there is truth behind the fact that skateboarders are just killing the style game.

My boyfriend is very much in the skateboarding world, which makes me a little less of a wheel biter (I hope??). He is the creator of Typical Culture, a very rad skateboard zine & online resource and has been skating since he was just a wee one. He eats, sleeps, & breathes skateboarding… so over the years, I have kinda been in this world as well.

We travel to Europe annually for him to film international contests & I love everything about skateboarding. The camaraderie amongst skateboarders is like nothing I have ever seen, watching skateboarding is my FAVORITE, the dedication is enviable, & not gonna lie- I am always picking up styling tips from them (& ALWAYS stealing my boyfriend’s clothes… like always.).

EXAMPLE– just last year in Copenhagen, when not at the skate contest, we went to the Henrik Vibskov Sausage Fest show during CPHFW. Across from the runway, front row, was a pro-skateboarder from New York… seated smack dab in the middle of the big buyers and the top European bloggers.

So- it just goes to show, inspiration is everywhere. Open your eyes to more than just fashion magazines & off duty models (because they def. didn’t invent the Thrasher shirt!). You do you, but give credit where credit is due

Read on to shop this look + a whole bunch of other rad oversized t-shirts I want to add to my collection asap. x, E

[ & ALSO… if you have a pool, it’s winter, support your local skateboarder & draining that thing! Then LMK, cause my BF and his friends will be there ASAP. ]
