Anyone who knows me knows, I am a psycho obsessed dog mom with crippling anxiety over leaving my dogs. I have always wondered WTF all of these dog owning bloggers are doing with their dogs while travelling atleast once a month. What is their solution? I would want to ask every blogger “WHERE ARE YOUR DOGS?!”, but that sounds like I am dog mom shaming. I am not, I am actually curious on who is watching your dogs cause this has been a HUGE STRUGGLE for us.
I am SURE boarding is fine for some dogs & that I am insanely over protective, but our dogs just aren’t the type of dogs to be boarded. Bitzy was old & tiny, and Ruby is anxious AF without us. TOTAL STAGE FIVE CLINGER.
Leading up to our Europe trip we had no idea what we were gonna do with our dogs. The one dog sitter we liked (wasn’t perfect, but our best option) retired. Our next option bailed on a smaller trip we had planned so I wasn’t feeling good about that. We almost cancelled our trip & I was tripping.
TG for social media cause I found the answer to all my dog sitting prayers on (of course) Instagram.
If you are an obsessed dog mom/dad, dealing with a special needs pup who needs constant attention, an elderly pup, or just want to ease your own nerves knowing your dog will be in the best hands ever… PUPPERIE PUPS IS THE WAY & I literally tell everyone I meet who owns a dog now. You guys too.
Coco & Sergio, the founders of Pupperie Pups, are godsends. They live in San Francisco & they are BESPOKE TRAVELLING DOG SITTERS. They come to your house, stay in your environment, take your dog(s) on TONS of outings/walks, & make sure the transition is easy on both DOGS & HUMANS. It is genius.
They do this for a living & they take it very seriously. Your pet becomes there pet, even after they leave. Sergio came down before we left to meet the dogs & we communicated constantly via email as they wanted to make sure they really knew EVERYTHING about the dogs (of course I had a 4 page print out). MY NERVES WERE SO CHILL.
When Bitzy had her first seizure, I emailed Coco & Sergio. I was worried they wouldn’t be comfortable with watching her. I was so stressed, but they TOTALLY calmed all my nerves. They had experience in dog seizures & actually gave me tons of great tips for dogs having seizures. They prepared a full medical plan for Bitzy which was sent to me before our trip in case anything happened. Of course I was worried about B, but I was 100% confident she would be in great care. She ending up passing away a week before we left… but if Bitzy stayed around longer, Coco & Sergio would probably have been more equipped than I was to handle the situation.
They, of course, still came & spent TWO WEEKS with our Ruby. She was OBSESSED with them. Ruby doesn’t warm up to a lot of people easily, so we were thrilled how in love with them she was. They both have the BEST ENERGY & Ruby got to stay in her own home, which made her so comfortable! She went to the beach a TON, walks 3x a day, went with them out to eat, cuddled with them constantly, & they even worked on her seperation anxiety while we were gone. She was living her best life & we got TONS of pictures each day + a full recap of what they did. They went above & beyond with our fur child.
When we got home from our trip & walked in the door, she was so torn on who she wanted to sit with- her old parents or new ones. Sweetest thing ever & even sweeter how much she missed them after she left.
