How to Make Chlorophyll Detox Water + Why You Should be Chugging it

how to make chlorophyll water: chlorophyll detox water benefits

Remember when I shared with you guys my obsession with Chlorophyll infused skincare? Yea, well today, the Chlorophyll convo continues… because now I am obsessed with chugging the stuff.

The skincare products worked wonders for my acne scars & gave me an EPIC glow, but since I also have HORMONAL acne, which typically comes from within- I took things a step further & began using Chlorophyll internally.

Actually, I was chugging the stuff. When I try something new, I really like to commit. I drank two glasses a day for a week, to try it out full force, & that week I was actually on fire. I don’t have the BEST sleep schedule, but I can’t drink coffee. So the first thing I definitely noticed was the energy zinger.

Next, the skin magic happened. If you’ve ever had hormonal acne, you know it’s angry & easily agitated. After drinking the Chlorophyll for 5 days, my skin seemed CALM for the first time in a long time. The acne, although it didn’t come to the surface like I dreamed 0f (I oddly love extractions!), it did flatten out & hurt a WHOLE lot less.

BUT I had to know WHY?? When something works, I like to investigate. So today I am breaking down the reasons why you need to start downing Chlorophyll water on the reg. In a very non-scientific way, cause that’s confusing.

First of all, What’s Chlorophyll?

Okay, no matter how many lessons in school we got about Chlorophyll- it wasn’t until I saw my science teacher chugging the stuff & then sitting outside in the sun for 20 minutes a day that I started to sort of pay attention (wasn’t the best in school, would have rather been on the computer… go figure).

Basically, Chlorophyll is what gives plants green coloring & then traps in the sunlight for the whole photosynthesis process (converting sunlight into energy!).

The main sources of Chlorophyll are green veggies. Even if you eat a huge portion of Chlorophyll rich foods with your dinner, it’s probably not concentrated enough to get the dose you need. WHICH IS WHY liquid Chlorophyll is my green gold detox elixir.

Here’s why…

Health benefits of Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is like a super concentrated green juice, it’s full of nutrients and can help with energy, weight loss, detox, skin issues, & so much more, here are a few of my FAVE health benefits of Chlorophyll:

+ Chlorophyll helps clear up acne! This, as I said, is the main reason I started chugging Chlorophyll. Basically, when you drink Chlorophyll it works to clean & oxygenate your blood which in turn oxygenates your body as a whole. This process helps to protect & heal skin issues- many people, myself included, notice a glow to their skin within days of incorporating Chlorophyll into their routine.

+ Think of your favorite antioxidant (personally I love a pomegranate), times it by 1000, & that’s basically what you get with Chlorophyll- extremely concentrated & extremely effective antioxidant properties.

+ The detoxifying properties are next level. Walk into your local juice bar & you’ll for sure see a “detox water”, the main ingredient will definitely be Chlorophyll. When you consume Chlorophyll it works to detox by binding to pollutants, toxins, & *some* cancer causing carcinogens & then flushing them out of your system.

+ Chlorophyll provides safe, natural, & lasting energy (minus any jitters!).

+ It’s a great hangover cure!! After a night out, down a glass of Chlorophyll water & wait for the headache to disappear.

+ It aids in weight loss, which is always an added bonus!! When the body detoxes, the metabolism speeds up. One study showed that Chlorophyll + a high carb diet actually helped to decrease the feelings of hunger and prevent hypoglycemia in overweight women.

DIY Chlorophyll Water

YOU GUYS- ready for a real zinger?! To make a glass of incredibly nutrient dense, detoxifying, clarifying, skin clearing, antioxidant rich, cancer fighting, weight loss aiding Chlorophyll water all you have to do is add CHLOROPHYLL DROPS & WATER.

Ground breaking stuff. Right?

Well no, but I do have a few zingers on how I spice up my Chlorophyll water. Chlorophyll in water doesn’t taste strong by any means, but there is a taste, & I personally enjoy covering that taste up (it’s just a little too green for my cup of water).

How To Make Chlorophyll Water:

If it’s a warm day I like to make spa water (strawberry, lemon, cucumber, mint are a few my favorite additions) in a pitcher, let it sit for a while, & then add 30 drops to my glass of water. Your water won’t look as pretty, but it will taste delicious.

If I am feeling fancy, I make sparkling water. Then add lemon, & top it off with 30 drops (the magic number) of Chlorophyll.

If it’s chilly out, I am all about a green tea + honey + Chlorophyll combo.

If you want to make your own, these are the Chlorophyll drops I love! Also, if I am in a time crunch, i will sometimes reach for these Chlorophyll tablets (although I prefer the water).

& if you’re too lazy for all of the above, just buy it pre-bottled. I don’t care how you do it, just do it (trust me!!).
