The other day I was in my dentist office for my bi-monthly deep clean when I saw the cutest.thing.ever- a planter that looked like succulents, but was really pens.
Inspiration always comes from the weirdest places, but that visit to the dentist gets 100% credit for this DIY project.
I can’t lie, I’m kinda obsessed with this DIY succulent pen planter. I am not tooting my own horn when I say this, since obviously the secretary at the dentist was the one who thunk this up, but it’s pretty effing genius.
Best part is, you don’t need to water them or care for them to keep the succulents beautiful! Even though they only need to be watered sparingly & are the most fool-proof plant alive, I always manage to (sadly) kill my succulents. Black thumbs, this ones for you.

DIY Succulent Pen Planter
» duct tape (not pictured)
» BIC pens
1. Attach them securely to the pen with a piece of duct tape (if stems are long or in a bunch, cut first!).
2. Wrap the pen with your floral tape until right above where the pen cap hits.
3. Fill your planter with river rocks & organize your pens to create a rad succulent composition!
