In the late nineties, I was a major victim of some seriously BAD brows.
I had a horrendous over plucking habit & considering all my friends had matching tadpoles through most of highschool, I definitely wasn’t alone. Over plucked brows was basically a right of passage into womanhood, am I right?
The shitty thing about the whole deal is that my past brow experimentation mistakes turned out to be the (worst) gift that kept on giving. It left me with thin, patchy, & all around ugly brows. Luckily, by this time, I was getting a bi-weekly brow tint & discovered my go-to Anastasia brow powder. The perfect combo to disguise a bad brow situation.
I was getting by just fine… until bushy ass brows became the hottest trend around (thanks to the queen of the power brow, Cara Delevingne) & I really had to up my brow game. Tints & brow powder were doing their job, but now I needed to up the volume to really amp things up in the brow area.
I did my research, as I often do (Google is literally my everything!), & whipped up with this DIY brow growth serum that has absolutely blown my mind. I honestly wasn’t so sure what it would do for me at first because I have used a LOT of brow growth products that were a total fail, but after one month I could tell in photos that my brows were significantly more Delevingne-ish.
My favorite part of all, minus the fact it’s affordable & super easy to make, is that it only has a few simple ingredients. Nowadays, every ingredient label on beauty products is a mile long with a bunch of stuff you can’t pronounce. I hate not knowing what’s going on my face, which is one of the main reasons I am so into beauty DIY projects. I can see exactly what’s going to end up on or near my face.
So, without further adieu, read on to see how to make this magic potion up at home! x, E

Why it Works
… in case you don’t trust me enough just yet, here is some proof into why these ingredients, when combined, cause your brows to sprout like a chia pet!
Aloe Vera Gel: aloe vera gel contains enzymes that nourish the hair follicle & moisturizes your brow, keeping it healthy & growing!
Castor Oil: castor oil is fully of fatty acids that are ideal for helping increase hair growth. It also is highly penetrative, so it gets deep into the skin right down to the follicle!
Sweet Almond Oil: you can use a lot of different oils for this serum, but I opted for sweet almond oil because it is rich in vitamin B1 & B6 which help to promote hair growth along with vitamin E which promotes circulation (good circulation = more growth!)
Lavender Essential Oil: Not only does it make the serum smell amazing & mellow you out (Lavender is great for nerves!), but it has been proven in a variety of studies to have helped patients with Alopecia to grow their hair back.
Lemon Essential Oil: lemon is known to be good for hair, & the essential oil is no exception. It stimulates the oil glands which help keep hair (on your brows, lashes, or head!) healthy & strong.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Eucalyptus is a highly effective stimulant that encourages hair growth by stimulations cells & bring nutrient rich blood to the hair follicle.
