DIY Minimalistic Desk Accessories

IDK about you guys, but my office space is one of the most important places in my home. It’s where the creativity flows & where you go to G.S.D. (get shit done, for future reference), so it deserves just as much as decor attention as the rest of your home.

Makes total sense, right?

Apparently not! It’s surprising to me that there is literally ZERO stylish & functional desk sets out there. All I found on my search was generic black, tacky ass hot pink leopard (sick), & some weird paisley print.

If you know me, or read the blog, you know damn well that is just not my cup of tea.

I wanted something chic & minimalistic that would accompany the rest of my all white desk decor. So I put on my crafty thinking cap & whipped up with these badass DIY desk accessories.

I gotta toot my own horn & say that this is probably one of my most fave DIY’s to date! It turned out 10x cooler than I even imagined, spruced up my desk, & was stupid simple.

Check out how it’s done below & If you decide to make your own desk set (or any DIY from the blog for that matter) I’d love for you to post on Insta with #FashionlushDIY so I can check it out :)!

Happy crafting. xx, E

SUPPLIES NEEDED

» Desk accessories of your liking. I used a classic stapler (+ staples), tape dispenser, desk scissors, & bulldog clips.

» Flash Tats. I used the “Lena” set.

» Flat white spray paint & clear acrylic spray paint. Both can be found at your local craft store or Home Depot.

» Gold paint pen.

THE STEPS

1. Wipe down everything you plain to spray paint with a bit of alcohol to make sure the surface is clean & free of dust/dirt/grime.

2. Start spraying. It is most likely gonna need a few coats, so just keep on going till it’s completely white. Let dry completely.

3. Apply your Flash Tats the exact same way you would on your skin: place them, dab them w/ a wet paper towel, wait a minute, & slowly peel off. When I say slowly, I mean it (this is key!). Be sure to also watch what’s going on when you’re peeling off the tattoo. If it isn’t sticking at a certain point, have tweezers near by & gently give it a little assistance.

4. Finally, give all of the items an all over spray with your clear acrylic spray. This isn’t 100% necessary, but it will help prolong the life & shine of your Flash Tats.
