MEXICO, MAN.
Something about the air in Mexico… it makes you literally forget about all responsibilities (hence the blog hiatus), forces you to relax, & makes you wanna have a spicy margarita on hand at all time… even if you’re not a fan of tequila. Basically, it’s a scene straight out of Jimmy Buffet’s ‘Margartiaville’, on repeat.
Lemme just say, I might still be hungover, 4 days later…
As some of you may know if you follow me on Instagram, I was out there for the wedding of my best friend Lauryn (aka The Skinny Confidential)…. & lemme tell ya, that girl seriously knows how to plan a destination wedding. There was a welcome barbecue on the beach, taco party rehearsal dinner, the big day, & of course- a much needed hangover brunch. The decor was super vampy, the brides get up was beautiful enough to break the internet, the energy of the whole crew was just super on point, & literally no detail was missed.
Be sure to check Lauryn’s blog on the reg, she will be recapping the whole extravaganza soon & trust me, you’re gonna want to see it (& get your Pinterest board ready).

Although most of our time was doing all that fun wedding stuff, we still got some mornings/evening to see the sites & get kinda touristy. We, of course, went to Flora Farms pretty much the second our flight landed, I can’t get enough of their all organic everything… but esp. the spicy arugula, carrot margarita, or bomb ass artisan pizza. It’s the most charming place I’ve ever been. In another life I’d like to retire young and spend my life gardening at Flora Farms. Sounds like a dream.
We also rode bikes through the town of San Jose Del Cabo & stopped at fun little shops, drank $1 beers, & did a quick tequila tasting. This was definitely new riding a bike through Mexico, but it was so so so fun & a nice little pre-wedding workout (there were some major hills).
& Lastly… I couldn’t leave Cabo without a trip to EDITH’S! Cabo San Lucas is kind of a trek from San Jose Del Cabo, but I 100% reccomend it. The experience is cool, a little more lively, & it’s home to my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time- Edith’s!!! If you go, order one of the Wally Specials & there caesar salad that they are known all over for. Best caesar ever.

Other than that, any free time we had was mostly spent at our EPIC hotel. I can’t even put into words what the Mar Adentro is like, but one of my readers commented that it’s the “most fashinlushiest hotel ever”. I can’t disagree with that statement… my new life goal is to build myself a petite Mar Adentro of my very own.
It’s an all white modern masterpiece built by the famous Mexican architect, Miguel Ángel Aragonés. The entire hotel is surrounded by water & when looking outside it’s like the water goes straight into the ocean. Pretty magical. You can go in any of the water around the hotel, which is awesome, but the infinity pool was everything on those hungover Mexico mornings. The way the whole thing is done, again… can’t explain fully, it’s just fab.
The service was super on point & everyone was so incredibly helpful & accommodating. They even brought me a bomb ass club sandwich & french fries post room service hours when we got back from the wedding around 2am. Give me food when I am drunk, I will love you forever.
The rooms were also insane. All white, of course, a bathtub on the patio along with a little double lounge, & the most amazing ocean view. The whole room was a smart room controlled by tablets & had lights that changed colors, & the shower was next level. Triple waterfall faucets change the entire shower game.
ALSO- the restaurant… called ‘Neto’ (Spanish for nest, cause it looks like a nest) was probably my favorite part of the hotel. The food was unreal!!! For breakfast we consumed a ton of bomb Benedict’s, yummy pastries, different freshly juiced concoctions on the daily, & the best huevos rancheros of my life.
For our poolside lunches we had sushi with kiwi on top (the new way to do sushi), a killer chopped chicken salad, & lotsa guacomole w/ chips (they have the absolute BEST handmade tortilla chips EVER- they were doused in lemon & Tajin!).
Okay, so I think that covers all the bases. Read on to shop my vacation looks & I hope you guys like this photo diary- can’t wait to be back in Mexico already!! Now… i’m off to pop a charcoal pill or two, cause the tequila is lingering. UGH. x, E
