I am not sure if I shared this fun fact about me yet on the blog, but if I have, apologies for repeating myself.
I am a huge huge huge huge bookworm.
Like… gigantic.
I am one of those people who is usually reading two books at once, stays up under the covers w/ my iPhone’s flash light reading way past my bedtime, & more often than not- I finish most books in under a week (but usually more like 3 days).
Don’t get me wrong, I love my RHO-whatever & tons of other hilarious reality TV, but when it comes to entertainment… reading takes the cake. Easily.
My taste in books is vast, yet I am a real sucker for anything w/ a twist or a cliff hanger. If for some reason I fall off the face of the planet for a few days, it’s a safe bet I just found a good book.
Below are just a few of my current “literary lushes”.
// My Literary Lushes //
1. The Fault in Our Stars is going to be a tear jerker, which isn’t usually my cup of tea, but the reviews are so raving that it’s made the top of my list. Plus, the movie is coming out soon… & I am kind of obsessed w/ reading books & then seeing if the movie matches up to what I imagined the characters to be like.
2. Hippies in the City is one self help book that I am really looking forward to reading. This book, as it says, teaches you how to be a hippie in the city- how to live a more holistic life while dealing w/ the everyday hustle & bustle of our overly fast paced world.
3. The Goldfinch is currently at the top of the best seller list, & they don’t make it to the top of for no reason. Added bonus: Stephen King says it’s ” is a rarity that comes along perhaps half a dozen times per decade”.
4. Not neccesarily a “reading” book, but coffee table books are just as important!! My personal favorite is Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty book. The cover is a rad hologram (kind of morbid considering his demise, but still cool) & the pages are some serious fashion porn.
5. Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen’s Influence is one I am dying to own, & my mom is hinting that she got it for me- so I am uber excited to see what my favorite twins have in store for my coffee table.
6. Grace Coddington’s memoir is both a great display book w/ it’s bright orange cover… yet also a great read. She also included some of her own illustrations & sketches, which are quite fab.
7. I am big on dreams, so I kind of die over the “Ultimate Dictionary of Dream Language“. I love waking up remembering my dream perfectly & sitting in bed w/ a cup of tea reading about what it meant.
8. Just for fun- the Kate Moss coloring book kind of rules.
9. The Totes Ridictionary seems like a real LOL. It would make a great gift for your parents who are always asking what your lingo means, or could serve as a reference book while watching “Rich Kids of BH”.
That’s all– for now!! If you have any recommendations- please comment & LMK! My reading list, unlike my to-do list, is one I like to keep nice & long.
