Okay, so I am no food critic… but I do think I am pretty well versed when it comes to brunch.
As basic as it may be to say this, brunching really is my favorite past time & something I take very seriously. I have a running list of places to try in my phone (always looking to add more, so feel free to share your go-to’s in the comments), & today I wanted to share w/ you guys my top 5 current brunch spots.
Apologies in advance for how hungry you’re about to be… sadly, I am already on my third trip to the fridge while writing this post. OOPS.
Also, if you’re coming to San Diego & want anymore roundups just let me know. I am thinking coffee shops next?? Thoughts? x,E
I just recently tried The Little Lion cafe & I am so so so in love with this quaint spot right by the ocean. The food is so clean, & everything was delicious + there is so much more we wanted to try.
I got the house smoked salmon plate & replaced the hard boiled eggs for poached eggs (they were so perfect) & Zack got the Croque Monsieur. We also got the chia seed pudding to share, which was equally as delicious.
If you’re looking for healthy options, keep reading, because Breakfast Republic is your cheat day meal.
Basically everything on the menu is next level. Zack loves the S’mores french toast & I usually opt for either the classic American or the turkey meatball hash. Really though, you can’t lose… but just be prepared for a lot of food (leggings are probably a good idea).
They also have an amazing flight of immunity shots if you are in need of a vitamin boost, & if not… I am a huge fan of their Bloody Mary.
Think vegan food meets death metal, & then covered in pink/white/marble.
Basically, the most Instagrammable brunch spot in SD, & the food is good too. I always get the smoked carrot & arugula that tastes so much like smoked salmon its crazy as well as the grapefruit/avo salad (so freshing) & Zack is in love w/ the banana bread french toast (boys and there damn metabolisms!!).
I love love love the southern vibes at Urban Solace. On Sunday’s they have their live bluegrass brunch which is so fun.
If it’s sunny, grab a seat outside so you can hear/see the music while enjoying some insanely delicious comfort food. Their cinnamon roll is to die for, the kitchen sink biscuits w/ gravy are a must, & we also really love their cheesy eggs.
This is more of an on the go brunch spot, but had to make the list because they have the best waffle I have ever had… & I am not even much of a waffle person. It is gluten free, so fluffy, covered in fresh berries, & drizzled w/ this amazing cashew cream sauce.
I had one this morning & can’t stop thinking about how good it was!!!
Also, their acai bowls look really yummy & they have a great juice selection.
