The Alexander Wang x H&M collab is launching tomorrow & lemme tell ya… my anxiety levels are high high high.
Fashion lovers all over the world have been counting down the seconds for this day to arrive & now that it’s less than a day away, things are getting bat shit.
TBH, I actually had a major internal struggle writing this post. Be greedy in an attempt to increase my odds of actually getting anything OR be a good lil’ blogger & share all the shopping deets/tips/ & tricks I’ve been hoarding on how to successfully shop this epic event.
Obviously, I went w/ the latter.
I truly feel it’s my blogger due diligence to share with you guys my game plan, cause if I don’t end up getting anything, atleast I can feel good about helping someone else score (although I will probably cry a lil’ inside).
Here goes nothing, take notes:
THE DEETS:
+ It starts tomorrow, November 6th. You can start shopping online at 10am EST (7am PST for us west-coasters) & in stores at 8am.
+ It’s one of H&M’s most highly anticipated collabs of all time.
+ You will also be able to purchase items on AlexanderWang.com, yet some sources are saying it’s the full line while others are saying it’s select pieces. That, we will have to see about tomorrow.
+ It’s all super chic sportswear, so start channeling your inner Sporty Spice.
+ The collection will include 61 athletic pieces w/ price points ranging from $10-$350.
+ An anonymous tipster who works for H&M says they are stocking 40% less than previous collabs, so just plan on it being pretty cut throat.
Braving the Store? Here’s What you Need to Know:
+ My first tip is to get there ridiculously EARLY. Don’t be surprised if you get there at 4am & already have to wait in a long queue. I highly suggest bringing a book, snacks, & hydration.
+ Find out which stores are carrying the line in your area & don’t go to the most popular mall (less people = higher odds).
+ Once the doors open at 8am they will give the first 420 people in the line a colored bracelet. There will be 14 colors, divided up into groups of 30. Each group of 30 will be given 15 minutes to shop.
+ Each buyer can only purchase TWO items. If you need more than two things, bring friends & pay them back later.
+ To make sure you don’t leave w/ any FOMO, know what you want before you go & in what size (collection found here). Don’t even mess around with trying stuff on. If you don’t like something you came home with, you can make returns for 30 days.
Shopping Online? Ditto! Here’s my Plan of Action:
+ Sounds easy & less stressful, but it’s going to be just as gnarly. Trust me, you still need to be well prepared.
+ Again, online shopping will start at 10am EST & 7am PST. Be ready & rearing to go atleast a half hour early.
+ Know what you’re getting before hand (again, collection found here) & in what sizes.
+ Be fully prepared for the site to crash multiple times. The refresh button is going to be your new BFF come tomorrow.
+ Create your account on H&M tonight and enter all of your billing/shipping info now. You’ll be VERY grateful for this tomorrow.
+ Same as the store, you can only buy 2 pieces per person so choose from the collection wisely.
So now that you know HOW to shop, here is WHAT to shop (according to me!):
1. Short Scuba Crop Top ($59.95): The Wang sweatshirt is one of the most talked about items of the collection, & rightfully so. This is a big contender for 1 of my 2 pieces!
2. Black Leather Boxing Gloves ($59.95): Boxing gloves that I would suggest never wearing in a gym. Much more suited for some rad home decor.
3. Neoprene Boots ($249): I meannnn…. are these even for real? Neoprene boots = next level.
4. Boxing Gloves Key Ring ($12.95): If you can’t justify $60 boxing gloves that will most likely never get used, this key ring should do the trick.
5. Wang T-shirt Dress ($59.95): I’m a sucker for a t-shirt dress & narrowing down two pieces is really getting tough.
6. Perforated Shirt Dress ($149): Another really talked about piece on the world wide web, this perforated shirt dress is going to go fast & hopefully one of them will be to me :).
7. Bustier ($34.95): This “sports bra” is killing me right now. This one takes the cake, easily my top pick.
8. Over-the-Knee socks ($17.95): We all know how much a love a good pair thigh high socks…!!!
9. Yoga Mat ($69.95): Cause why wouldn’t you need an Alexander Wang yoga mat? You will be the envy of all your fellow yogis.
10. Decorative Cup ($29.95): It’s like drinking from your own trophy, every single day. Although just like the boxing gloves, I personally would use it to store my ( all white ) no.2 pencils.
Alright, that’s all she wrote! Hope this helps someone, somewhere, get lucky w/ Wang!
Fingers crossed for us all & if you strike out, be sure to check back at your store for returns! If there is something you literally can’t breathe without, there is always eBay. Just but be wary of surge pricing. Just like Uber on a holiday, the price increase is gonna be major.
If you score- come brag to me about what you got! I can’t wait to hear :).
xx, E
UPDATE:::
Morning of & I slept in 10 minutes past when the online shop opened, thankful for my boyfriend who woke up & realized it was 7:10am already. Literally JUMPED out of bed & grabbed both of our computers. The site was crashing every 5 seconds & we had to do a ton of reloading for about an hour BUT…. I ended up with everything I originally wanted + a few more things. Here is what I came up on:
+ The perforated top in white (yayyy!)
+ The cutesie lil’ boxing glove keychain
I am one happy lady right about now!!! How did you guys do!? Any luck??
