I am borderline obsessed w/ my dogs.
Take that back, fully obsessed. I’d rather hang out with them then anyone, any day of the week (sorry friends, they’re the best). If you are new to Fashionlush, Bitzy is our old lady almost 13 year old yorkie that I have had since day one & Ruby Tuesday is our baby 1 1/2 year old all black Frenchie (& instagram superstar w/ her own website).
So, pretty much my life goal is to have them with me as much as humanely possible. We’ve got doggy backpacks for each of them (in case they get tired), I am highly considering a dog stroller (although Zack is not so fond of the idea, but Bitzy deserves a chauffeur), & we really only go to places that allow dogs.
Actually, I get pretty bitchy towards places that DON’T allow dogs. It’s rude, IMO. How could you not want to liven up your business with the good vibes dogs spread? Dog haters.
SO- today, huge shoutout to all my fave spots that do allow my dogs & treat them like the queens they are.
Pet Friendly Places I love in San Diego
i. The Pendry Hotel
We LOVE the Pendry hotel, it is our favorite places to enjoy a relaxing staycation. It is chic, modern, boutique-y & welcomes dogs w/ no extra fee! They will bring you dog beds upon request & have bowls waiting for you in the room with fresh water.
It is located in downtown San Diego, so there is always stuff going on in that area- but if you don’t want to leave your dogs for too long you can grab a bite the delish hotel restaurant. Dogs can’t go to the restaurants sadly, but it’s comforting to eat dinner knowing they are just upstairs chilling in a bomb ass hotel room. Oh- & they have a champagne vending machine which is pretty next level (& super insta-worthy!).
Also, the Manchester Grand Hyatt is another SD dog friendly hotel. Haven’t stayed there yet, but love shouting out any hotel who loves pups!!
The Pendry: 550 J St, San Diego, CA 92101
ii. The Patio on Goldfinch
This is our go-to spot when looking for good food, and a place for the dogs to have a little fun! This place is delish, & there are always tons of fur babies. Technically you eat on a dog friendly patio, but the way it is covered feels like you’re eating inside!
It is located in Mission Hills, but they have another location in Pacific Beach that also allows pups. The SUPER friendly staff will bring your dogs fresh water in clean bowls along with yummy gourmet biscuits!
For the humans, the restaurant is considered “California Cuisine” (a fancy term I believe for American Cuisine, with a beachy twise? idk…) & the menu features yummy things ahi tacos, buratta, crispy brussel sprouts, insane french fries, signature cocktails & so much more. Everything is delish. They also have an all day happy hour on Monday along with a late night happy hour from 10pm-12am, on top of their daily 3pm-6pm happy hour. SO MUCH HAPPINESS going down.
The Patio On Goldfinch: 4020 Goldfinch St, San Diego, CA 92103
iii. Liberty Public Market
I am SO obsessed with Liberty Public Market in Point Loma, so the fact it’s such a great place for the dogs is the icing on the cake. Basically it’s a huge ‘mess hall’ with tons of different restaurants booths inside (very European), sit down fancy restaurants surrounding it, workout studios (shout out to SparkCycle), a cute little pet shop to grab your pup a treat while you eat.
Really though, for us, it’s all about the food & the dogs on the weekend. Our personal favorite culinary delights (so fancy of me) include the build your own cereal bowl at Crackheads, the lobster rolls at Wicked Maine Lobster, poke bowls/oysters at Fishbone Kitchen (bomb fresh seafood).
We will grab our food, a glass of rosé, & eat it outside where there are tons of dogs & people chilling, sometimes afterwards we will hit up their fabulous dog park as well so the dogs can get out their extra energy.
Liberty Public Market: 2820 Historic Decatur Rd, San Diego, CA 92106
iv. Civita Dog Park
Speak of dog parks- our FAVORITE is easily Civita.
It is located in Mission Valley east, is brand new, & is just super good vibes for the pups & people. It has a real community feel, & we go to a lot of frenchie meet ups there. Both of our dogs are small, so I love that it has a dedicated small dog park filled with dogs. Sometimes I feel like Ruby wants to play with the big dogs at most parks cause the small dog area is pretty wimpy- but not here. There are always tons of nice dogs for her to play with, the park is huge, & they have fun little obstacle courses for the pups.
Civita Dog Park: 7902 Altana Way, San Diego, CA 92108
v. Culture Brewing Co.
This one is located in Solana Beach, so it’s kinda far from us, but if we’re in the mood for a good beer Culture Brewing Co. is the jam. Epic selection of craft beers on tap, friendly service, & are extra stoked on dogs. They even have DOGGIE BEER BONES you can buy in their store.
They have a handful of dog focused events, which we LOVE going to cause we can enjoy along with the fur babies. Tons of open space for them to play! Also, there are often food trucks there with delicious pizza or poke bowls (two of my faves).
Culture Brewing Co.: 4845 Newport Ave, San Diego, CA 92107
