A few of you lovely ladies have requested I share some of my beauty favorites, so… that’s the plan for today! Also, I love love love when you guys requests posts. I blog for you wonderful babes, so keep them coming.
I actually wanted to do more then share all my make-up products, as there is way more in my routines then just lipsticks & mascaras, so I am also including some game changing wellness products as well!
I have probably 900 other things I love, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you, so I promise to include more of these types of posts in the future!
Best part is, majority of these products won’t break the bank. I do a lot of research on what goes on my face & body, so it’s not like I am using cheap quality stuff either. Occasionally I will splurge, but for the most part, (in the words of Carrie Bradshaw) “I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet”. TRUTH.
You ready– this one is a long one, but worth every word. I promise.
1. Herbivore Cosmetics Skin Toning Elixir: Okay, first off, I live for all things Herbivore Botanicals. I am a branding junkie, so that was what drew me in, but the products are truley unreal. The ingredients are natural, non-toxic, & all serve a specific purpose. Absolutely ZERO useless fillers.
In particular, this Skin Toning Elixir is something I can’t live without! It contains rosehip, argan, golden jojoba, & carrot oils along with some yummy essential oils (all organic). It leaves my skin feeling refreshed & glowing, balances my skins pH levels, & even helps with pesky hormonal acne. It is a gentle toner, so it also kinda tightens up my skin, which I love! I spray it on when I wake up, midday for a refresh, & before bed.
2. Lumee iPhone case: okay, so this is neither a beauty or wellness product, but I had to throw it in. Backstory: I was watching my daily dose of Ellen & Kourtney Kardashian was on. During the interview they face timed Khloe & Ellen was commenting how stunning she looked. Khloe said, “Oh, it’s my iPhone case!” & proceeded to show the difference when the light was on & when it was off. It was magical (although she still looked so pretty with it off!).
I immediately was googling which iPhone case the Kardashian’s use when I found Lumee. I immediately ordered it & love it so much. It acts like a ring light (what all the top beauty vloggers use) & has totally upped the selfie game.
3. SweetSpot Labs on-the-go wipettes & gentle wash: Getting a little real with this one, but I figured, why not? We’re all ladies here, & self care down there should never be ignored. I often go to pilates with my girl friends every Friday & after we like to go grab a bite, so bringing these wipettes along quickly freshens things up (I also use them on my underarms!). Sweating down under & leaving it be isn’t only ick, but also can cause some lady health issues (hello yeast infection! NOT COOL). So yes, these are always in my gym bag for sure. I also use the gentle wash in the shower, & this is not only for your “sweetspot” but all over your bod as well.
The thing I like most about these products is they are made with 98% natural ingredients, are pH balanced, & gynecologist recommended. Sweeten up whenever & wherever, with only the best ingredients. They are infused with yummy things like aloe, cucumber, pineapple, & cranberry AND they come in vanilla blossom, grapefruit verbena (my favorite), & neroli mandarin. My very holistic sister was over the yesterday & she literally tried to sneak them in her purse. If she wants them, you know they’re good. I told her to get herself to Target & give me mine back. Little thief.
4. NYX Butter matte lipstick (MLS21): This is my everyday lipstick, & it’s so amazing. The matte finish, the nude shade (also a little grey-ish, which is so rad), & the staying power blow my mind. It’s a total dupe for the discontinued MAC lipstick ‘Whirl’. Basically, twins.
5. NYX Abu Dhabi Soft Matte Lip Cream: I often apply this amazingly silky soft lip cream over MLS21. It’s so soft, & the light brown color mixed with the above lipstick is a killer combo.
6. NYX HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder (translucent): Okay, so the other day I got sucked into some vloggers beauty channel learning all about “baking your makeup“. It totally performed some magic on her undereye circles, & since I’ve got perma-shiners, I wanted to try. She was swearing up & down on the Laura Mercier setting powder, but I am not down with that pricetag, so I started researching dupes.
Everyone & their mom in the beauty world said NYX made a great product with their finishing powder, so I ordered it that second & WOW. Not only is it so fun to bake with (SO weird), but I use it all over my face once I am done with my makeup for a total airbrushed look. Even my chiropractors receptionist said my skin looked fab, & I owe it to this product.
7. The Super Elixir by WelleCo.: This one is a little on the spend-y side, but since I am consuming it, I am down. First, I love the caddy it comes in, second… it’s my holy grail. It was created by super babe & supermodel Elle Macpherson & every claim you’ve heard is 1000% true. Reading up on it, people said within a week you will notice an intense different in your skin.
I added it to my daily smoothie (with their nourishing protein powder as well) & boom, within a week my skin was basically new. I even went out of the house sans makeup like 4 days! Not to brag, but my skin is GLOWING & my energy levels are through the roof. It’s also helped me slim down a bit, which was a real lifesaver prior to my Cabo trip. It contains 45 natural ingredients, took years to scientifically perfect, alkalizes your bod, contains a shit ton of super greens/Chinese herbs (love Chinese medicine!)/vitamins/minerals/digestive enzymes/trace elements/& even mushrooms- all things your body doesn’t even know it needs.
Also, it is absorbed at a cellular level, so it gets to all 11 of your systems (i.e. endocrine, integumentary, circulatory, nervous, etc.). It’s a cult product for a reason & I can’t stress enough how obsessed I am. If you couldn’t tell.
8. Toothbrush style makeup brush: I don’t even know the proper name for this brush, but I do know it’s the best thing since the Beauty Blender (which I also swear by). I first heard about the Artis & MAC brands from my beauty vlogging babes, but I wanted to try a less expensive alternative before I made the full plunge.
Honestly, I can’t tell you if this one is as good as Artis or MAC, but it’s SO freaking good. The fine bristles make your concealer/powder/contour go on so perfectly I can’t even explain it. It holds a lot of product so it actually saves you money- a little goes a long way with this brush. Try it for yourself, you’ll see.
9. Wet Brush: I am sure you already know this, but never ever use another hairbrush then the Wet Brush again. Please.
10. ELF Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator: Before I found this lip care product, I would exfoliate my lips with my toothbrush. It worked, but this works better. You apply it like lipstick & at first it is rough, so it sloughs off dead skin. Afterwards the Vitamin E, Shea Butter, & Jojoba/Avocado/Grape oils kick in to leave your lips SO smooth & SO soft.
I use it before bed, applying in circular motions. Also, it tastes like brown sugar!
11. LUSH minerals contour kit: Oh man, do I love to contour. Some people say powder kits are easier, but I disagree. Not only do they make your skin look dry, they just don’t make as much of a difference. This kit is EVERYTHING. Grab your Beauty Blender, toothbrush makeup brush, & get to sculpting those cheekbones. It also comes with a contour guide, so you will be a pro in no time.
12. Cake by Reverie: I believe I have blogged about this product before, but it’s so good it’s worth another mention. Not gonna lie, this one isn’t the cheapest, but if you want the best hair of your life, it’s worth every freaking penny.
It’s an anti-aging growth serum that is infused with the stem cells of an apple (proven to delay the aging of your follicles), hydrolyzed protein of the sweet white lupine plant (restructuring & regenerating), & a blend of essential oils that hydrate your hair & make it a billion times stronger. I have massive roots right now & literally JUST got my hair done, clearly it’s working wonders. Rapunzel locks, here I come #GOALS.
13. L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara: This mascara was recommended to me by a fab makeup artist & said it was a huge secret in the world of mascara. It’s basically DiorShow, but for a fraction of the price. Not much else to say, other than it’s all I will ever use on my lashes again (plus a good primer, of course).
