Can we just talk about moving for a second? I know, it’s really the only thing I’ve been talking about for the past week, & I’m sorry for that, but who knew moving would be such a world consuming thing?
The packing up my stuff was annoying, but I don’t think I realized exactly what I was in store for when it came to actually moving the stuff from one place to another & unloading it into the new place.
First of all, my body has never hurt so bad in my entire life. I feel like a basically ran a marathon without training. Secondly, I am OCD, which makes moving very very very difficult. I don’t say I’m OCD like “haha, I am so OCD I color code my closet” (although I absolutely do that), I am actually full blown obsessive compulsive & can’t function normally when things aren’t in order.
So, when we first got into our place, I started unpacking & making everything in the new home look pretty much exactly as same as the old home. I naively thought I could get everything looking perfect that day, but at 2am our first night in, Zack forced me to sleep. I hate going to sleep if things are unfinished, but my body was shutting down, so I left the 900 boxes as is & got some rest for the next big day. Today is our 5th day in & although we’ve gotten through all the boxes, we still have a ton to do… luckily for everyone, I’ve mellowed out about it.

Everything about this place is PERFECT, my dream home, so I want to take time to make everything inside perfect as well. Rome wasn’t built in a day, Rome wasn’t built in a day, Rome wasn’t built in a day (on repeat, in my brain).
As for the place itself, some of you may have seen a few sneak peeks on Snapchat (un: fashionlush), but I’m really saving the big reveal till everything is in order. I will tell you this: the walls are pure white (no cream, thank goodness!), we have a black accent wall (yes yes yes!!!), the ceilings are high, & the floors are CONCRETE.
I know, concrete floors aren’t for everyone, but they are my dream come true. I literally run around the house in joy over the concrete floors.
Oh, & so far living with Zack has been AMAZING. I think if a couple can get through a move together w/o a single fight, that’s a pretty good sign. Plus, he just (like right this minute) delivered a bomb omelette to my desk + almond cold brew. LIFE IS GOOD, & so is he <3.
Stay tuned for more updates on the new digs, now we’re off to Target for the 1000th time in the past week.

» how freaking cute is this minimergency kit from Pinch Provisions?! They just opened up their mini bar where you can customize your kit, naturally I did black w/ the little brunette “hey girl hey” emoji. I keep it in my purse & it has been amazing in this move when I literally couldn’t find any of my toiletries. «
» scenes from the kitchen! I wish I could tell you Bitzy was loving the new place, but sadly she’s been having a rough time getting adjusted. We have been diffusing lavender essential oils to calm her nerves, adding Rescue Remedy for pets to her water, & put a little t-shirt on her to help her feel more secure. So far, those three things have made a world of difference! «
