Mornings are the enemy.
I’ve never understood the mentality of a “morning person”. They wake up at the drop of a hat, smile & stretch while they gracefully get out of bed, have perfect hair (always), & somehow manage to look bright eyed and bushy tailed at the crack of dawn.
I couldn’t be more opposite. I wake up bitchy, out of sorts, hair a hot mess, bags for days, & hitting the snooze button on repeat for atleast an hour.
To say I need a morning energy boost would be an understatement.
Other than the occasional dirty chai, I’m just not much of a coffee drinker. It makes me shake, makes my teeth yellow, causes a midday crash, makes my head throb, & the taste just doesn’t do it for me. C0ffee drinkers, please tell me, am I missing something? Do you actually enjoy the stuff? IDGI.
Anyways, I am reallllly into smoothies lately, so I did some research & crafted up a smoothie that is literally better-than-coffee. It’s a healthy energy booster (aka no crash/shakes/yellow teeth) & it tastes absolutely amazing!

Morning Mojo Smoothie
The Ingreds:
» Kale: loaded with just about every vitamin on the planet, a handful of antioxidants, & even some cancer fighting substances. Kale yeah!
» Spinach: this little leaf is jam packed with vitamin K, antioxidants, & TWICE as much iron as any other leafy greens. When your iron levels are good, your energy is higher, which is why spinach is the perfect addition to my morning smoothie.
» Pear: thanks to the high levels of Vitamin A, K, & Copper found in one pear, they can greatly help to protect cells from free radicals, They are also a great source of daily fiber to keep your digestion system on track.
» Mango: alkalizes the body, makes you feel full faster (thanks to fiber, great for aiding in weight loss!), & helps with concentration/memory due to the protein Glutamine Acid.
» Coconut Milk: since I’m not a milk drinker, this is my go-to alternative! Choose whatever liquid base you like (even water if you don’t like any type of milk!).
» Coconut Oil: the key to sky-high energy in the morning. It contains a saturated-fat (the good-for-you kind) called Medium-Chain Triglycerides that, rather than being stored (like bad fat), are used as an energy source.
» Bee Pollen: for an extra energy punch, add bee pollen in & sprinkled on top of the smoothie. It has more protein than ANY animal source which, when combined with carbs & vitamin B, can you keep you going strong all day long.
» Ginger: great for soothing sore muscles after a tough workout, easing any stomach upset, keep the body from becoming inflamed, lowers cholesterol, & is my favorite flavor in the world.
» Cinnamon: not only does it taste great, but cinnamon is loaded w/ antioxidants, can help fight infections, protect against cancer, & lower blood sugar.
The Steps:
1. Add all ingredients to the blender.
2. Blend till fully smooth.
3. Pour & enjoy!
