I’ve got a bone to pick about this whole idea of “boredom”.
Everyone & their mom has been telling me how boreeeeed they are lately, & it’s a concept that I just can’t wrap my head around. If you’re bored, just a heads up, I am probably not the person to come to to chat about it.
I honestly haven’t been bored since junior high, before cell phones were really a thing & my only way of being connected was w/ my see-through turquoise pager (#143), so I simply can not sympathize with you on this one.
Really though, I am curious, what does being bored actually feel like?!
Part of me wishes that I had the time to be bored so I could sit read a book w/o distraction (a luxury I sorely miss), but I know even if I did, I would busy myself stat. Everyone who knows me says I am the queen of making work for myself, & they’re 100% right. If I can sense boredom may be in my future, I create a project/task/chore that needs to be done & I do it.
I read somewhere the other day that the opposite of happiness isn’t sadness, it’s boredom. Makes total sense, right? Too much time on your hands = overthinking = depression. So, the next time you feel the depression and/or boredom sinking in, busy yourself ASAP. Whether it’s picking up a new hobby, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or joining a book club (lucky!!!!), find something to keep those idle hands & mind busy.
Sorry for the rant, but this has been on my mind big time & it feels good to get it off my chest :). Happy Monday loves!

» Went to Ikea for a houseplant, came home with a new bed. It’s a good thing I actually like building Ikea furniture, cause that (plus wine) pretty much sums up my weekend! «

» How rad is this clutch though?! If you’re into cowhide, you gotta check out Jackson and Hyde. All their clutches are handmade straight from Nicaragua & are all of one of a kind (personally I’m a fan of the Chocolate & Vanilla swirl collection!). «
