Two DIY’s in one week… looks like the creative-block may finally be over. Finally!!
When it comes to the gift giving season, I am all about making my own prezzies for my loved ones. No, not because I am trying to save a buck (time is money!!!), but more so because personal touches make people so much happier. Trust me, I’ve done it for years & it’s never failed me, which is great cause I seriously SUCK at buying people things they may actually like. No joke, I’d rather spend the day at the dentist than pick out gifts for people.
I was really thinking out of the box with this one. Combining my boyfriends love for skating, my love for organization, & my current fave quote- I whipped up an epic skateboard jewelry display piece that doubles as some pretty amaze wall art.
Perfect for the couple (guys will actually want this on the wall of your shared space), the OCD action sports fan, or just someone who appreciates a cheeky gift & gold deets.

Supplies:
+ custom skateboard via Zazzle (<— obsessed with this site, a DIY’er’s dream come true).
+ command strips a.k.a. my savior
+ gold leaf pen, a must-have in my craft box.
+ Add a little flair to your design by giving it a foil effect using a gold leaf pen. These pens are GREAT. Tip: let dry between coats for a more seamless paint job. +
+ Place out where you want your hooks to be before you actually commit, although if you mess up- command strips remove easy with no sign of them at all (hence why I am so obsessed). +
+ Hang your board easily with two shoelaces the same color as the deck & drape your jewels. Also great for scarves/ keys/ or even coats (just be sure to use stronger hooks). +
Now I just have to decide who gets this gift, but I am really considering being selfish & giving it to myself. It looks damn good in my new place.
