Just a few days until twenty seventeen (can’t believe it- time flies way tooooo fast!!!), & it’s time for me to start working on my resolutions.
I am super into list making… and goal setting, so this new year exercise has always been a favorite of mine. Ever since I was little, I would take my resolution writing VERY seriously. I am still working on the master list, but am already excited to share it with you guys– not only is it good for me to say my resolutions out loud as it holds me more accountable, but there are def. a few things on there that you may find helpful as well! Learn from my mistakes, save yourself the trouble.
THAT SAID, there is one tried & true resolution I work on each & every new year.
Be on time, cause punctuality is the new black.
Sounds pretty simple, but it ain’t. Shit happens. The you can’t find your keys, the dishwasher overflowed, you left the flat iron on, your heel broke, blah blah blah. The list can goes on, and for some reason or another, something like this ALWAYS happens to me. I’m the girl whose dog ACTUALLY ate her homework.
SO, each year, to help get me on my way to being that always on time kinda girl, I treat myself a new watch & then… here is the cincher… I set the time back 10 minutes. This is a little trick that has always helped me start off the New Year on a good, on time, foot.
First of all, if you get yourself a FAB new watch… so you will want to wear it on the reg. I am super into the mesh band trend, so I got this chic black & gold one from Cluse & I am obsessed with it. It goes with everything & looks great worn alone or paired with a ton of gold bracelets. Everything about this watch is just screams me. It also screams, “I’ve got my life together & I show up on time to everything”. Right?
Secondly, setting the time back. This trick is one my Dad put into action years ago when I would continuously sleep through my alarms & it works like a charm. Yes, in your heart of hearts you will know the time is set back 10 minutes (or however many minutes you are normally late!), but eventually that will become your new normal & VOILA… never late again.
EASY PEASY, & cute too… yah?
Okay okay- any tips or tricks you guys have for being on time? Do tell… I’ve got some friends & family members reading this who could use all the help they can get (you know who you are **ahem**, MOM!).
