Bleeding & cracked lips alone is not a good look, try to throw some lipstick on top & you’ll have that “hot mess” look going strong.
Putting lipstick on top of chapped lips is like trying to paint an old wood table w/o sanding it down first, the result is not gonna be pretty.
Typically when my lips get dried out, brushing my lips w/ a toothbrush does the trick, but I was in a whole new ball game of chapped-ness on my recent trip to Vegas (it’s sooo effing dry there!) & even this quick trick of mine was failing me.
There was no amount of vaseline/toothbrush scrubbing/chapstick to remedy this issue for me.
The second I got home I pulled out the big guns & immediately whipped up my go-to dry lip remedy, this top secret pumpkin spice lip scrub. Not only is it a total lip miracle worker, but it seriously tastes better than a P.S.L at Starbucks. Whoever gets to kiss you on the lips after you scrub is gonna be in for a realllll treat (the BF loves my nightly lip scrub routine. LOL).
Just one use & right away my lips were brought back to life. The brown sugar scrubs off all the nasty dead skin, the coconut oil moisturizes x 100, & the cinnamon plumps up your pout big time. Trust me guys, I’ve bought a lot of lip scrubs, but this one takes the cake by a long shot.
Best part of all, now that my lips are crack free, I can finally get around to testing out my perfect nude lippy (that I got for the sole purpose of matching my nude mules, naturally).
Give it a try, LMK what you think, & please share any other lip-saving remedies you’ve been hoarding!
xx, E
THE SUPPLIES:
» 1 Cup brown sugar
» 1/3 Cup coconut oil (softened at room temp)
» 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin pie spice (mmmm, my fave!!)
» 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
» Mini mason jars, for storage
Step 1: Combine your dry ingredients: 1 cup of brown sugar + 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice.
Step 2: Add in your wet ingredients: 1/3 cup coconut oil + 1 teaspoon vanilla extract & stir until all the dry ingredients are fully saturated.
Step 3: Store your scrub in mini mason jars & keep at room temp (it will be good for about 3 months- which is plenty of time to use it all up!).
How to Use:
» Using the tip of your finger, rub this yummy concoction on your lips in a circular motion for about a minute & rinse off with cool water. It’s also totally great for dry skin as well, so feel free to go to town on those rough elbows/feet/hands/etc.! «
» Sidebar: these pots of goodness also make for the perfect holiday prezzie! I’ve already gifted them to a few peeps & they’re hooked! «
