THE PRE-VACAY jitters are the worst.
Am I alone in this problem, or does everyone get nerves before they are about to leave town?
I literally kinda freeze up before leaving a trip, cause it’s just so damn overwhelming. The whole thing.
First, the packing. I hate packing!! I always am SO overly concerned I am forgetting something that I have to revert to neurotic spreadsheets & lots of insane double checking. Also, you want to look cute on a trip… so there’s that stress trying to plan outfits & just worrying you’re gonna leave something you will end up NEEDING to wear.
Then, the dogs, oh dear lord…. don’t get me started on the dogs. Bitzy will be fine staying with my Mom, but my mom’s dogs don’t love Ruby so we have to board her & I am losing my shit. The thought of it breaks my heart & makes me wanna cancel our trip (but I won’t….). PAINFUL.
Then the counterproductive to-do lists begin. Basically, to-do lists that are supposed to help you feel less stressed but end up making you want to rip your hair out.
Don’t even get me started on the plane & the trip itself… cause that’s just a whole other mess of frayed nerves.
Any tips guys? I wish I had some more compelling content for you guys, but my mind is on a one track rn planning for this trip we are leaving for & it’s just all I got…. along w/ this super rad off the shoulder bomber dress & my FAVE new flatform sneakers (cause, ya know… it’s a #fashion blog after-all).
Alright, signing off to run to my chiropractor so he can crack the nerves out of me. Fingers crossed.

I totally agree with you … traveling is a fantastic thing, but it could drain you mentally too. :)
Don’t worry you are not the only one. Count me in! :)

yes- so much to do to prepare :(
Ahhh I am excited for your trip!! Your travel guides are the best. And yes I feel you on the pre-vacay jitters thing, I start getting super obsessive about what I need to buy/do I really need this/will I die without it etc like a week before my trip and end up buying a bunch of stuff I don’t really end up needing once I’m there. And overpacking to the max. Haha. Where are you off to?
ugh me too! We are headed to Nashville :)
Oh girl I’m totally the same way as you. I just got back from a trip to Texas last night and I know you know the feeling of how the nerves just start to melt away when your plane lands back home (even though you had an amazing trip). And then the feeling when you get to unpack and put everything away and do laundry and get your life back in order? So good.
ahhhh yes! priceless
ahh can you find a neighbor or friend to watch the dog? boarding is scary i try to avoid it at all costs.. there are even ppl that will watch your dog in their homes for you on care.com i think! just a suggestion.
getting ready for a vaca always gives me jitters in my heart, anxiety problems. just relax though, all will be fine :)

thanks for the tip! looking up care.com now!
I feel you on the dog boarding thing. We had to board our old man once and while he had fun (they texted us pictures daily) we just couldn’t do it again. Now we just bribe friends who don’t have pets to house sit and stay with all the animals.
ughhh… I wish we could have someone come stay :(
Yes, I know exactly what you’re talking about. Just think about when you arrive and decompress you’ll feel so much better. I always travel with my dog and I’m scared he’d be heart broken if I leave him for longer than 3 days. I want to go to Japan so badly but the dog is holding me back :-( It’s embarassing.
I hope you have a great trip!!
I feel ya on the pup- it’s causing us major stress right now :(
I actually love all the stages from packing to actually leaving haha. But yeah, one thing that makes me stop and think in regards dogs is how much I love travelling.
Loved the outfit :)

lucky girl! I wish I didn’t get so damn nervous :(
ugh it like me! it’s the worst- I feel the exact same as you about travelling! I am so weird cause when I am panicking I literally can’t speak to anyone- I just freeze & don’t speak till we’re on solid ground again.
Those socks are so fun! Love it.

thanks babe!
OMG! Are we the same person? I’ve never heard anyone deal with pre-travel jitters in the exact way I do. The plane doesn’t even give me anxiety, it’s everything else. I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME we leave for a trip because I’m so concerned for the dogs. Yet, I want to travel all over the world. We leave for all of our trips early morning and every single time I will stay up until 3-4 AM perfecting the house and the packing… only to leave the house at 6 to make our flight. This past trip I told my husband the anxiety is getting to unhealthy extremes.
Me too!!! I am a mess, but now we are here & everything is okay. I feel ya though- traveling is so great, and so hard. I was up all night getting ready & we had to be up at 4am. Even though I know how hard is it to give advice on the subject cause it’s just the normality for us… I am here for you!!!
