Told ya… it’s gonna be BACHELORETTE week over here.
TBH, I am off my game & I honestly have been having a really hard time focusing. I always want to be super transparent with you guys & I feel like I need to get this off my chest… especially cause I am just not sure if I can even get through this post.
WE HAVE A MICE INFESTATION (so far we’re at 2) & it is NOT okay.
I have full blown musophobia (fear of mice) & I am a wreck. I feel like I am going to wake up (it’s 2am & I can’t sleep cause of the mice) to 100 mice covering my floor downstairs. To put it in perspective, I was so parched I had to go downstairs just now. It took me atleast 5 minutes to get downstairs cause I had to look at every step I took for a mouse and bang loudly each step. When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I climbed on a kitchen chair & made my way to all of the chairs until could reach the fridge so I didn’t have to touch the ground.
I know, this all sounds very dramatic but to me, this actually really fucking traumatic. I cried 8x today & had a panic attack when I saw one scurry across the floor. A panic attack so bad it scared poor Zack. I am neurotic, I know this, but this mice thing has got me in a bad place. It’s a shitty feeling to be this scared of your own home.
BUT- brighter days are coming cause I am getting the eff out of town Friday & need to escape. I also need to break my lease, but Zack is thinking that’s taking it a little too far.
K, now that we all know what’s going on in my life- BACHELORETTE PARTY DETAILS! I got a ton of DM’s over the weekend from soon to be brides & MOH’s to do a post about all the decor & details from the weekend… so here we are. GET THE WHEELS TURNING, if I could give any advice- plan & purchase FAR IN ADVANCE.
P.S. for more Bachelorette party inspo check out this post & this post from Lauryn’s Bach weekend last year! Also in Palm Springs, also epic!
WHERE WE STAYED
Our AIRBNB was insane!! It’s called Fleetwood of the desert and it is literally the perfect Bachelorette house. There are 4 bedrooms & a huge couch, our house slept 10 & everyone was fully comfortable with the situation.
The decor is so on point. Modern with lots of cute pink details, epic bathrooms, each room has it’s own balcony, & they’ve got the best marble counter tops I have ever seen (Insta-worthy x 100). The kitchen has all the utensils you need which came in handy with everything we forgot. The pool is also great, tons of seating for everyone & an outdoor dining table.
I highly recommend this AIRBNB for a Bachelorette. The only thing, Palm Springs have major noise ordinances with rentals cause there are SO many AIRBNB’s. They had strict sound rules, but I learned that most AIRBNB’s in Palm Springs have to put those rules. When we checked in he said music is fine, just be reasonable. We had no issues & even went night swimming a few times.
THE BACHELORETTE PARTY DECOR
I was in charge of the decor, which was perfect cause I LOVE SHOPPING FOR PARTY DECOR. It was Palm Springs, so I kept it very Palm Springs-ish. OKAY- here is EVERYTHING I bought for the decor…
+ PINEAPPLE CUPS: these were fun for the welcome drinks paired with your typical penis straws (i’d be okay if they didn’t include a flesh colored one, these freaked me out). People used these all weekend & then took their cutie cup home.
+ SAME PENIS FOREVER SIGN: I feel like this is a Bachelorette essential.
+ PINK STAR BALLOONS: I loved these balloons cause they reminded me of Little Twin Stars. I got a helium tank at Party City & just blew up as many as I could before the tank ran out. I could’ve had more, but single use helium tanks seem wasteful. Also got these pearly white balloons I envisioned putting in the brides room, but the helium tank ran out… like I said.
+ PENIS CONFETTI: I think this was my favorite detail of the party. I am not like hugely into penises but this is just a cute way to incorporate them without being cheesy. My AIRBNB for sure found penis confetti leftover. LOL.
+ SHEET MASKS: I put sheet masks in every bathroom which the girls loved. TONS of sheet masks. I got a pack of 24 on Amazon for $13 so the girls got to take a bunch home.
+ RING POPS: I’ve always been down with a Ring Pop at a Bachelorette party, it’s a cute detail & I put tons in the bowls all over the house.
+ POOL FLOATS: ALWAYS the most important part of Palm Springs Bachelorette party. I didn’t wanna do flamingos cause that is played out so I got a red heart, a pink heart, red lips, pink lips (people thought they were something else…….. can you guess?), and the rosé bottle. It was a super cute insta-worthy vibe, but I do recommend saving the patch kits cause they do pop… especially in the heat. We lost two floats & I obviously didn’t keep the patch kits. Also, don’t forget the electric pump.
+ THE BRIDE’S TIARA: for the brides pillow… although I think I wore it more than her (I wanted a tiara moment, & I was drunk).
+ FLAMINGO NAPKINS, COASTERS, CUPS: I got all of this stuff from HomeGoods cause they were rolling at out all the flamingo decor. CHECK HOMEGOODS, they always have the best stuff.
+ DISCO BALL PLATES: I wasn’t gonna include these cause they clearly do not make any sense with the decor, but when I bought them I for some reason didn’t read well enough & thought I was getting ACTUAL disco balls. I was so stoked cause I thought I found a stellar deal of 12 disco balls for $12 LOL. I am the queen of buying the wrong thing on Amazon, but in my defense, look at the product image… it really does look like an actual disco ball… it’s an illusion.
+ DISPOSABLE CAMERAS: I thought about being my instant camera, but that’s been done for Bachelorette’s… so instead I got a 5 pack of disposable cameras. I am going to get them all developed & send the ladies virtual copies which I think is way more fun then polaroids!
+ PARTY PENITENTIARY SIGNS: these signs were SO fun. Everyone loved them & we totally intended to take photos with them (all different ones so you can pick which fits you best- I was the LUSH obviously) & do a whole Brady Bunch type image in Photoshop. It never happened, but cute idea.
WHAT WE FED EVERYONE
The food wasn’t all my responsibility, because I don’t cook… so it was a lifesaver the Matron of Honor is like a real cook. Food is always concern, cause you never know how much people are gonna eat & there were 10 of us. Here is a breakdown of what we had in the kitchen/meals Elise made:
+ TACO NIGHT: for our first night we had a Taco Night. The house was so sick, we wanted a night just hanging out there. This was SUPER efficient & great for a group of people. Ground turkey, tortillas, all the fixings (guac/onions/sour cream/cilantro/etc).
+ SNACKS: we had one of the bridesmaids make a snack basket for the weekend- she filled it with all sorts of chips, popcorn, bars, peanut butter packs, electrolyte packets, etc. This was great because it took some work off the of us & bridesmaids are always down to contribute. Utilize them ;).
+ DREAM POPS: we also had a flight of DREAM POPS which were a real hit poolside. Dream Pops are 3D printed superfood popsicles with amazing ingredients like Spirulina, cacao, matcha, berries, etc. & so delicious. It was a great hangover snack too, all those anti-oxidants. Also- obsessed w/ their Instagram account.
+ SUJA: I can’t do a weekend of drinking with out a fridge full of Suja. It’s literally all I need when I wake up with a headache. I chug like three of them. We also got some of their kombucha & I am obsessed with the Pineapple Passionfruit flavor… which is saying a lot cause I am not typically a fan of kombucha.
+ ADULT BEVERAGES: we asked everyone to either bring a bottle or two OR make a cocktail for everyone. This had us almost covered all weekend long- we had beer, wine, champagne, rosé, spicy margaritas, & a yummy cocktail that had beets in it. Another fun way to get the bridesmaids involved!
+ AVOCADO TOAST BAR: Saturday brunch Elise set up the most amazing avocado toast bar. Different types of toast, avocado, mozarella, a delicious balsamic sauce, micro greens, tomatos, whatever else you wanna put on your avo toast. It’s easy to set up & everyone loves avo toast.
+ BAGEL BRUNCH W/ AN EPIC CREAM CHEESE HACK: for the last morning we did a bagel brunch & obviously this was my favorite meal of the weekend. Elise premade an amazing chive cream cheese & a strawberry one- just mixing in chives/strawberries with regular cream cheese & serving them in cute mason jars. We also had a plain option as well. I was in heaven.
