Anyone else kinda thrilled Christmas is over?
Man oh man, the holidays are stressful AF & I am super eager to get the new year going already.
As for our Christmas, welllll… we totally bailed & opted for a random adventure instead. We have always wanted to check out Salvation Mountain, so we got up super early, exchanged gifts, loaded up the car (Bitzy included, obviously), & made the 2.5 hour drive to one of the raddest places I’ve ever been.
To sum it up, Salvation Mountain is a “visionary environment” in the little town of Slab City (near the Saltan Sea). It was created by a man named Leonard Knight & is made up of adobe, straw, & paint. It reminds me a lot of the works done by one of my personal fave artists, Howard Finster, as it is all very religious/colorful/mind blowing. If you come to SD, I realllly highly suggest you check it out!
As for the rest of our long lazy ass weekend. We finished up Making a Murdered (still in shock! would love to hear your guys’ thoughts on the verdict), made our way through The Jinx (another baffling crime docu-series), got cozy, & had some bomb ramen.
I’d say the weekend was a success, & just watch the doctor ordered. It felt so good to not worry about work/life/etc. & just kinda do whatever the eff we felt like it.
How was your guys’ holiday weekend? Hopefully it involved a lot of relaxing & resetting- time to gear up for 2016!! x, E
