For my bday (Saturday) my boyfriend had to film the skate contest at the US Surf Open in Orange County, and I decided to tag along. I was esp. stoked he scored me an extra media pass, meaning I got to sit in the bowl and watch the contest front row PLUS we didn’t have to deal with any of the out-of-control lines.
The skating was obviously great, but what really was unreal to me was the people watching. I am just curious, what parents let there 16 year old daughter go to this crazy shit show, while wearing thong bikinis? It was seriously nuts. Girls had “I have crabs” written on their bums, groups of guys were rap battling like they were Eminem in the street, and people were blatantly getting down (super dirty style) on the sand. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We got out of there quick, and it was a good thing…
… because I later hear that full blown riots broke out. Looting, cops with bean bag guns, people kicking over port-a-potty’s, fights galore, etc. etc. This is a real shame, because with all of the commotion, I wouldn’t be surprised if this event was officially cancelled. Sucks for all the people that are there to have fun and actually watch the festivities.
So yes, that is my rant to all the a-holes who ruined the fun for everyone. You suck.
I am just happy I got to sport my new b-day vest. I must say, it was much cuter than a tacky brazilian bikini with wedges on the beach. Probably my most despised fashion faux-pas.
