Being that I am gluten free, there is one question I get asked allll the time (esp. during the holiday season)… “how the EFF do you handle social situations/parties?!”.
I know… I know, the thought of watching everyone else indulge on some bomb ass treats is like Chinese water torture, but if you have an intolerance to the stuff, you know that it’s just not worth it. For me, cheating always results in extreme exhaustion & joints that leave me feeling like a 90 year old. I don’t care if it’s my best friends Grandma’s top secret pie recipe that won some county fair award 50 years ago, I got shit to do & a day stuck in bed with gluten poisoning just doesn’t fit into my schedule.
So I don’t feel left out or look like the weird girl not eating anything in the corner (cause that’s always awk), I bring my own treats & during the holiday season it’s these gluten free Santa Hat’s w/ the most insane homemade coconut whipped cream!!
They are ridiculously easy to make, which is perfect for the cooking-challenged like myself, taste delish, & the cute factor will have all your friends thinking your a straight up Martha Stewart.
I teamed up with Forever 21 to whip up this recipe for there “21 days of realest gifting” (check it out, they’ve got some rad giveaways going down) so to find all the deets on how to whip these bad boys up head over to the F21 blog.
… & if you’ve got any good G-free holiday treats to share, LMK!!
xx, E
Love this idea! I am dairy free and gluten free so its the same same for me but worse because I can’t even have cheese. I tend to bring my own dishes and explain to friends and family that I get very sick which is an exaggeration but that way they get it! Xo C
Ahhh- I couldn’t imagine a life without cheese :(!!! I totally get it though, I always have to exaggerate or else people are just like “nooo, come on just try it!”.
