GLASS SKIN IS SO IN GUYS.
If you know me, you know I have a serious infatuation with how Korean’s take care of their skin. If you’re new to the blog, you can read more about this obsession here & here.
I have a bookmarked album on my Instagram labeled “skin goals” & it’s filled with photos of Korean babes w/ the dewiest complexion’s you have EVER seen. This extreme level of dew now has a name & is seriously trending in the beauty world rn, GLASS SKIN… Cause the radiance is so real your face literally looks like it’s made of glass.
SO- HOW DOES ONE GET GLASS SKIN?
Well let me say, I am not any sorta skincare pro, but I have got a routine down (along with a few tricks) to make all your glass skin dreams come true. Not gonna lie- my Korean skincare loving self is feeling v. proud.
YOUR BASE IS YOUR FACE!
They major key to glass skin all lies in your skincare, more specifically, moisture. There are a few makeup tips to help enhance the radiance, but it all HAS to start with a solid skincare routine. So- here’s mine.
THE NIGHT BEFORE:
okay, so if I know I am gonna try to do a glass skin look, I prepare the night before. The routine is the same as the morning one (see below), with a few additions.
+ After I wash & tone my face, I apply the EOS Aqua Clay Mask. I am kind of the queen of face masks, & I am loving this clay one because it SERIOUSLY clears out my pores, but because it’s infused with seaweed, which is SERIOUSLY hydrating, it doesn’t dry out my skin at all.
+ Then, I pick up where I left off w/ my skincare. When I am done with everything, I do give my lips some love. Lip masks are a thing & the EOS Aqua Hydrating Lip Treatment is my go-to of the moment. I keep it next to my bed, slather it on, & when I wake up my lips are SO soft… which is great cause when they’re softer they look way more plump.
MORNING OF:
1. CLEANSE:
OBVIOUSLY- but always make sure you’re not using a cleanser that dries out your skin, you wash your face in small circles versus aggressive wiping, & if you don’t feel fully clean- wash again.
2. TONE:
Even if you wash your face the best ever, the toner really works magic to fully clean out your pores. I like this toner, because it has geranium in it which helps with hormonal acne.
3. SERUM OF THE DAY:
My daily serum changes based on my needs, but it’s either something with rose or a brightening serum. I load the serum on, because before it fully dries, I like to do a quick Gua Sha facial massage to help promote collagen & reduce my undereye circles.
4. MOISTURIZER:
This is always my favorite part of my skincare routine, because it really just brings the dew full circle. The EOS Aqua line in general is inspired by water, so their new skincare line is perfect for the glassy look & I am obsessed w/ their Aqua Glistening face moisturizer. It’s rich & creamy, but when it hits your skin it legit turns to water & leaves you with an instant glistening glow.
THE MAKEUP:
1. PRIME:
Once my base is fully prepped, I start with the EOS Aqua balm skin hydrator. It works as a toner, serum, & moisturizer & provides the PERFECT BASE for makeup. I like to mix with with a little powder highlighter for extra glow power.
2. COVERAGE:
Using a foundation brush, I lightly apply a CC cream mixed with one drop of rose oil. The whole key is to note get cakey, which is why I keep my hand light & never use foundation for this glassy look. I also use a foundation brush for this cause it just goes on lighter that way (versus a beauty blender!)
3. CONCEAL:
Using a tiny concealer brush, I put a bunch of concealer on my hand & only use the brush to apply in very specific areas: spot coverage, under the eyes, and around the nose. You want your brush to be FULL of product so it lasts to cover everything.
4. PAT IT IN:
This is when I bring in the beauty blender. I spray it with a rosewater mist & use it to put on a TINY bit of cream bronzer along my cheekbones & to pat the light makeup into my face. This helps make this glassy look stick throughout the day.
5. BROWS & LASHES:
Brows should look really natural & fluffy . Use a brow pencil to lightly stroke in the direction of your brow hair & add a few strokes of mascara (with a curler is my preference!)
6. HIGHLIGHT:
I like to use a cream highlight (living luminizer by RMS is the best!) for this look to keep that dew. I use the slightly damp beauty blender to apply it on the bridge of my nose, cheekbones, & cupids bow above my lip. I also apply a little to my eyelids & inner eyes.
7. LIPS:
The lips really drive this look home. First & foremost I SCRUB using the EOS Aqua Purifying Lip Scrub. I have habitually chapped lips (need to drink more water, which BTW, also a tip for naturally glassy skin!). It’s a super gentle scrub & really exfoliates off all that dead skin.
The comes the gloss, cause this look is all about gloss. The EOS Aqua Dynamic Lip Gloss is my jam. It goes on clear & when it hips your lip the color changes based on your lip chemistry. INNOVATIVE stuff right there. Mine turned out to be the perfect color pink to give it that natural but rosy glow & the shine is the perfect glassy finish.
SO- ARE YOU INTO IT? WILL YOU BE TRYING THE GLASS SKIN TREND? Honestly- it makes doing my makeup so much more fun in the morning mainly because I am always so excited for the outcome.
