+ FL: Soooo….I first found you on Instagram, and because of your fab style shots- I was dying to contact you to get you on Fashionlush. Please, give us a little intro.
Jenny Parry: Thanks! My name is Jenny Parry. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I am in my twenties. I act, model and I have a blog called On The Way Out.
+ Fl: I checked out your fab blog (love it). How long have you blogging? Do you have any blogging tips to share?
JP: I’ve been blogging for about 3 years now. My previous blog was called A Gemini Rising where I talked about stuff I liked , what I was up to, etc. but I’ve begun to focus on personal style posts on On The Way Out. I post a photo a day, five days a week of what I am wearing. I think the most important tip is to be yourself, and be original, because that is what is going to stand out the most on your blog. Another is to post regularly to keep your readers interested…which I’m attempting to do now with my daily posts!
+ FL: How would you best describe your personal style?
JP: 60’s/70’s groupie mixed with 80’s skate culture with a little 90’s grunge thrown in.
+ FL: So you’re going out to run errands, what would we likely catch you wearing?
+ JP: Either a long dress with a slit or a tiny vintage shift , my western Topshop ankle boots, a motorcycle jacket, and some shades.
+ FL: How about 2013 fashion, any trends you are particularly excited about?
+ JP: I really want to get my hands on a cool suit a la Saint Laurent, Jonathon Saunders, or Stella McCartney. Something androgynous but super sexy. Ooh, and anything hologram. I love hologram.
+ FL: What trends were you most happy to leave in 2012??
+JP: Hopefully peplum. Just not into it. (( <—<< AGREED ))
+ FL: Just looking at your insty pics, I can only imagine all the goodies in your closet. Where do you shop for all your amazing pieces?
+ JP: Mainly vintage and thrift stores but also Bonadrag.com, Zara, and Wasteland.
+ FL: Do you have any models or style icons that inspire your style? Spill.
+ JP: Jane Birkin, Anita Pallenberg, and Erin Wasson always gets it right in my eyes.
+ FL: What is your most sacred beauty and/or fashion secret.
+ JP: My beauty secret is to drinks lot of organic cold-pressed green juice. I believe beauty comes from the inside and when you are healthy and feeling good, you just glow. Plus I think all the vitamins have to be an anti-ager. My fashion secret is pretty simple…dress to make yourself feel good. Wear what fits your body, don’t always listen to the trends.
+ FL: If we emptied your purse out right now, what would we find?
+ JP: A red vintage Louis Vuitton wallet, multiple pairs of sunglasses by Epokhe and Raen, Burt’s Bees chapstick, Clinique Black Honey, and a pin that says I Heart X-rated Video Movies. Random.
+ FL: I know picking faves is hard, but what is the most item in your closet?
+ JP: That is hard! Probably my Stone Cold Fox red Onyx gown. That dress fits beautifully! Everytime I wear it I feel so good, whether it’s dressed up with heels for a fancy dinner or with boots and a denim jacket for a night out. Plus it’s red which is my favorite color.
+ Fl: Last, but not least, what is your fashion motto?:
