Festival Nail Art DIY | No Skills Required

Cause no Coachella look is complete with out some rad festival nail art.

Am I right?

Really though, am I right? I’ve never been (I know, crazy huh!?!), but from all the style shots I’ve ever seen, it seems a festival mani is always an essential.

Lately I’ve been all about the basic nude nail, but when it comes to special occasions, nail art is always a good idea in my book.

Problem is, I’ve got hands shakier than a hypoglycemic in major need of some sugar, so typically I bring a screenshot image of what I want to my nail lady & marvel at her calm controlled hands as she paints a Picasso like masterpiece on my nails.

This time around though, I really wanted to create a festival inspired mani that required absolutely zero skill, perfect for all of the artistically challenged peeps such as myself.

I teamed up with my girls over at Child of Wild to whip up this nail art DIY using Flash Tattoos from their rad new Desert Dweller collection.

Although I die over everything Child of Wild makes/touches, I gotta say, this Flash Tat collab is def. one of my favorites.

Head over to the Child of Wild blog (designed by blog-doo!!) to check out the full SS15 Desert Dweller Lookbook, read about the cultures behind the designs in this pack, & get some fashion inspo for your upcoming festival destination.

All the DIY nail art deets are below & if you try your hand at a Flash Tat mani, please share a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #FashionlushDIY so I can peep it! I love seeing you guys recreate projects from the blog :).

P.S. While you’re at it, here is another great Flash Tat DIY I did a while back (w/ office supplies)!

DIY Festival Flash Tat Nail Art

» Flash Tattoos

» Tweezers

» Nail polish

» Top coat

1. Paint your nails & let dry fully.

2. Cut out your tattoo shapes.

3. Remove the plastic on the tattoo & place it on your nail using your tweezers.

4. Wet a paper towel & press down on the tattoo, just like you would apply them on your skin. Carefully pull of the paper with your tweezers, making sure the tattoo has adhered fully.

5. Paint a top coat & you’re good to go!

There you have it, nail art for dummies :).

  1. Loved this post and this whole idea – question: How do the temporary tattoos fare over a few days? They look amazing when fresh, but do they start to dry out and flake off and look really bad?
