Fashionlush Twenty Fifteen

Oh my freaking lord… we are back in action & I legit couldn’t be more excited.

Not only because the site relaunch is finally live & better than I ever imagined, but because not blogging the last 5 days has been a serious mind f*ck.

At first it was kinda nice having so much free time while not blogging (& actually going to bed at a reasonable time for the first time in years!!), but then I got bat shit stir crazy. I missed my creative outlet, I missed writing, but most of all I missed you guys. In the end though, it was all worth it cause this baby I just birthed (metaphorically speaking) has seriously re-lit my blogging fire in a huge way.

Obviously you can see a whole bunch of changes right off the bat, but lemme break it down:

» Brand new rebranding, starting with a fresh logo. What I had was great, but just not me. This screams Erica. Simple, clean, & some scissors to rep. my obsession with the DIY.

» Simplification x 100. I wanted to take out all the fluff & distractions. The site is about the content, end of story. I wanted that to be the main focus.

» Nav done easy. At the top bar you’ve got the basics : bio / press / contact / the app (wait for it), easy follow links (cause I love getting social w/ all of you!), & a link to my blog design company. Below the logo you’ve got all the categories complete w/ rad lil’ thumbnails of recent posts from each one. 

» The App!!! This is def. one of my fave developments w/ the new site relaunch, cause who doesn’t love an uber easy to access app? Download it from the iTunes app store & have Fashionlush at your fingertips at all times. My fave feature is the bookmarking, if you love a post & want to revisit it later just throw down a bookmark & you’re good to go. Genius.

» At the end of each post, there are four social sharing buttons (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, & Email) to spreading the love easy. Just click & share.

» Minimalistic sidebar with all the basics, including all my current lushes/purchases as well as all my Insta-looks ready to be shopped. Under “shop the feed” just click on a pic & it will take you straight to all the links.

» Speaking of shopping. You can now also shop my closet via Depop (my obsession) & visit my e-boutique, which includes a curated list of all my fave fashion pieces, shoe-lushes, beauty products, etc.

All in all, it’s my blog stripped down to the bare basics, but in a really chic way. Maybe I’m tooting my own horn here, but after 6 months of work by me & the FL team, I think I deserve it.

As for what’s to come content wise, well that’s also going to change a bit. I love sharing all aspects of my life, but I’m paring it down a tad. I still plan to blog about all the categories on the blog, but the main focus is going back to where we started: all things fashion & DIY. My two greatest creative loves.

I have had a lot of requests from readers to keep the holistic remedies & beauty tips rolling in, & I am definitely listening to you guys. When I come across a game changer, you better believe I will be spilling the deets.

Another fun topic I plan to focus more on is blogging. I asked you guys a few weeks ago what you want more of, & this was a big one. I was actually really excited to hear this request, cause if there is one thing I love it’s talking shop.

I know change is scary, so if you are missing a certain feature, please don’t be scared to ever reach out & make requests! This is my blog, but it’s also yours & I love to hear everyones input.

The past year has been amazing to both me personally & the blog. I got to visit my new favorite place in the world- Copenhagen w/ the LOML, blog-doo is still kicking & killing it, I joined forces with Forever 21 in the form of an ongoing monthly collab, the site hit 2 million views (!!!) thanks to my oil pulling post, I moved into my dream place, I attended the RewardStyle conference in Texas, the Rich Girl // Poor Girl series was born (one of my fave posts to do!), & so much more!

Clearly, twenty fourteen has been good to me & as grateful as I am, I am ready to get 2015 cracking. I’ve got a feeling in my bones that it’s gonna be one for the books.

To wrap up this post that I’ve been looking forward to writing for the past (ridiculously longgggg) 5 days w/ a big bang, we created a video montage for your viewing pleasure.

Last month we were in Vegas to celebrate Thanksgiving w/ the fam, but thanks to the amazing people at SLS Hotel, Zack & I were invited to stay a few extra days to celebrate the 6th anniversary of Fashionlush.

The video is a recap of our celebratory trip, but it’s also a pretty good representation of a day in the life. We shoot pictures, we have fun, we get weird, we drink champagne (lots), & we do work… typically from bed between the hours of 8am-9am (who am I kidding, more like 10am-11am).
