▸▸ Why did you start blogging? What’s your “blog story”. Tell us a bit about what we will find at your adorbs blog- Sunday’s Pearl!
MEA: Funny story, I started Sundays Pearl as away to get rid of photos on my phone so I could do the software update on it. Ha! I then started to be more intentional with it & mold it into something more. I wanted it to become a small glimpse into my daily life happenings, with a focus on style & fashion, because I just love it so much! You will find a variety of things, hopefully all inspiring!
▸▸ Any advice for aspiring fashion bloggers?
MEA: Be you. Don’t try to be the other fashion bloggers, cause they are already doing it. Do things that inspire you. If you love it, chances are someone else will too. Trust those gut instincts, & mostly just have FUN!
▸▸ What is your fashion philosophy?
MEA: Wear what you like. Don’t be afraid to try new styles & trends but make them your own! Whatever you do wear, wear it with confidence & own it!
▸▸ Who inspires you in the world of fashion? Who are your fashion icons?
MEA: I’m inspired by almost everything! I love some of the classic icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, & Jane Birkin. I find myself inspired by Gwen Stefani & Rachel Zoe on the regular. And those Olsen twins have had my heart since a kid!
▸▸ What is the best beauty/fashion advice you’ve ever been given or have given?
MEA: Whatever you do, do it with confidence!
▸▸ I am way into natural/holistic beauty- anything you swear by??
MEA: Coconut oil for everything/ on everything! I love it as a hair mask! (<<— ditto girl! The best.)
▸▸ Speaking of hair. Your hair is amazing! Any tips & tricks on those perfect curls?
MEA: I have a video on my blog under the “hair” page. I always tell my clients practice makes perfect/ it doesn’t have to be perfect! :). (p.s. be sure to check out that viddy here. It’s amaze!!)
▸▸ If we emptied your purse right now, what would we find?
MEA: My iPhone, hobo wallet, gum/mints, chapstick, YSL lipstick & gloss tint, & a jumbo lint roller cause I hate lint and hair on me! ha!
▸▸ All time fave shopping spots??
MEA: Lately, online! Which has been a new adventure for me… I love finding local spots too but when I am in a pinch I can always count on Madewell & Free People.
▸▸ First thing you notice in an outfit?
MEA: Shoes & the details! The shoes & details are always what make a look special!
▸▸ What do you skimp on fashion wise? What do you splurge on?
MEA: I skimp on trends & I splurge on shoes, bags, & made by hand pieces.
▸▸ Fashion rule you never break?
MEA: I don’t really believe in fashion rules. Ha! So I guess I break all of them.;)
▸▸ The one thing every lady should own, whether fashion or beauty wise?
MEA: a little black leather jacket!

MEA: Kimonos & jumpers/rompers (forever!)

MEA: My Hackwith Design tops, Another Feather jewelry, Flynn Skye jumpsuits, Rachel Comey booties, & Janessa Leone hats.
▸▸ Last, but not least, I saw you mentioned that you only use your iPhone to take your epic blog shots. Any tips on getting the perfect picture? What are some of your fave editing apps?
MEA:
Yes! I use a iPhone 5 as of right now- as much as I wish I could walk around and use a cool camera all the time- it’s just not realistic. I love the Afterlight app & VSCO cam app! I use a lot of the different settings (t1 & s2 are my fave on Vsco). I hate warm tones so I try to eliminate that as much as possible. Outdoor lighting is key for a good phone pic!
