My whole life I’ve fought the battle of the undereye bags/cirlces.
Not just the casual, didn’t get a good night sleep kinda circles, I am talking about full blown Uncle Fester like circles. Basically, two major shiners.
I’ve been to allergists & derms, practiced lymphatic massage (my fave!), smeared orange lipstick under my eyes (works like a charm!!), & spent way too much money on products that promise miracle results & don’t deliver.
It was actually my dad, who is always sharing random tips & articles with me, who told me about this cucumber trick that he read somewhere. It sounded intriguing & made sense, so I decided to give a try… adding in a secret ingredient of my own to up the effectiveness ante (read on!!)
Clove oil!!! Yes yes, I love me some clove oil. I read somewhere that a drop or two of this particular oil added to eye cream helps promote blood flow, which reduces puffiness. Since that’s the whole point of this beauty recipe, I decided to hit up my oil collection & throw in a few drops of clove for an extra kick.
Really though, the main eye bag blaster in this recipe is the cucumber.
Cucumbers are GREAT for skin. They can can lighten up any discoloration, lessen water retention to reduce swelling, tighten pores (great toner), is made of mostly water so it really moisturizes that gentle undereye area, are high in vitamin E & potassium to reduce the appearance of fine lines & blemishes.
I place these bad boys under my eyes in the morning or a bit before I put on my makeup. With in no time you will notice your eyes look worlds better! Bright eyed & bushy tailed, no one will know how freaking tired you are.
See all the how-to tips below & if you have any miracle tips or tricks for us undereye sufferers, LMK!

DIY Eye Depuff
» cucumber slices
» cotton pads
1. Blend together appx. 1 cup of cucumber slices + 2-4 drops of clove bud oil.
2. Dip cotton pads in cucumber mixture, gently squeezing out any excess liquid.
3. Freeze.
4. When ready to use, let defrost & place under eyes. Be wary to keep away from your actual eye as the clove bud can burn a little.
Sayonara puff, you won’t be missed!
Love this idea! Will definitely try. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Erica! I have awful dark circles and my concealer just ends up creasing in the fine lines under my eye. Have you you used any under eye serums that have reduced your dark circles? And do you have suggestions for creaseless concealer?
I love any/all MAC concealers! They are great, I typically go in & they always reccomend what’s best for my needs. As far as eye serums go, I keep it simple with coconut oil :)
love this idea! I know cucumber is an old trick – but pureeing it on cotton pads is pretty clever…can’t wait to try it! thanks for sharing.
Kristy.
You will love it :)
