I am the WORST when it comes to good marketing… meaning, I buy shit I really don’t need because it looks cool & everyone is saying it’s bomb. ESP. when it comes to fancy ass beauty tools. It is honestly an embarrassment how many tools I have just sitting in a drawer.
The Clarisonic cleansing brush, for example. I bought it cause everyone says it’s great- personally, I was not a fan. The whole thing seems kinda of dirty to me & it made me break out BAD. Then there was this tool that PROMISED it would plump your lips like Kylie Jenner… well yea- it actually just bruised the shit out of my lips.
SO- over this past weekend my sister forced me to finally clean out this junk drawer of tools & weed out the crap (she is the organizing/get rid of QUEEN). As we were cleaning I put aside the 6 tools I use the most that ACTUALLY FUCKING WORK & decided to share with you guys.
LET’S GO.
6 BEAUTY TOOLS ACTUALLY WORTH THE HYPE
1. Allegra Magic Globes
I have had these used at MULTIPLE facials & it is always my favorite part, not sure why it took me so long to get on Amazon & grab myself a pair of ICY BLUE BALLS (they are typically blue when I get a facial, I got purple, but calling them blue balls is way more fun).
ANYWAYS- I do have an ice roller which I like, but i am finding myself reaching for the balls more often these days. They seem to stay cold longer & are WAY better at lymphatic drainage. Plus, they just feel so damn good on my face.
They massage the facial tissue which tightens up the skin, help with dark circles/puffy under-eyes, they reduce the size of pores, stimulate collagen, increases circulation, & YES- the lymphatic drainage. If you get them watch THIS VIDEO on how to do a lymphatic drainage massage.
& no… they don’t break easily. I mean, mine clink together and on stuff all the time & haven’t broken!
2. Rose Quartz Gua Sha tools
I am OBSESSED with my Gua Sha tools. You can read more about them here– I did a full post on these magical things w/ a video cause I am obsessed)!
You can get either jade gua sha tools or rose quartz, but personally I like the energy of rose quartz (although jade is great for anti-aging). Basically using gua sha involves a gentle scraping motion upwards to help with circulation, clear out the lymphatic system, & to contour the face & I LOVE IT.
3. Eterno LED red light device
I got this device about a month ago & have been using it RELIGIOUSLY since. I have had LED light facials before & loved it, but it really works best when you use it regularly, so this at home device has been amazing to keep it up at home
This one is a RED light device which really helps build collagen, reduce the size of pores, even out skin tone, tighten the skin, smooth wrinkles, speed up healing scars, etc! This brand only has red light, but there are some blue light devices out there & the blue light is great for killing acne causing bacteria.
I personally love this one because it hits my main concerns are skintone, acne scars, & ALWAYS GIVE ME MORE COLLAGEN!!! After I am done washing my face I spend 20 minutes with my LED device about 3x a week- you just do 5 minutes each for four areas & done. It gets a little warm, which actually feels great (Zack loves using it when it’s cold out).
4. Derma Roller
I wrote all about derma rolling in this post, but for those of you who don’t know what this is is, it’s a device with tiny needles you roll over your skin to stimulate collagen production, heal acne scars, & improve skins texture.
I am not gonna lie- since I wrote that original post, I stopped. I liked it at first but the device I was using was too aggressive for my skin. A few weeks ago I decided to start up again & got this device which is MUCH more gentle on my skin- I am LOVING IT so far (I use it once a week!).
I do it once a week after I apply this Vitamin C serum w/ Hyaluronic Acid after I shower.
5. Foreo ‘Iris’ Illuminating eye massager
I have the WORST dark circles. Always have, always will. The one thing that actually helps me the most is under eye massage to move the fluid (ew) out from the under eye. This tool by Foreo is my go-to eye massager.
The reason I am obsessed is because the shape of this thing, although it kinda looks like a sex toy of some sort, it fits PERFECTLY in the contour of my undereye & the massaging motion really feels like it is loosening things up & moving it on out. I see a difference as I am doing it. I either use it before makeup or at night over eyepatches!
6. Rose Gold & Geranium Facial Roller
The more you can massage & roll your skin on your face THE BETTER. This is my go-to everyday roller because it’s quick & efficient. I use it after I apply my serum either in the morning or at night (or both!) & do about a minute long rolling session all over my face. I also love to use this on my neck over my neck cream because it’s GREAT for ironing out that dreaded tech neck. It is rose gold which is just chic on the vanity & the 30 geranium stones help to energize, enhance, & LIFT the shit out of your skin.
