As of the last 6 months or so, I have become *slightly* addicted to reality TV. THIS IS NEW for me. I used to watch a LOT of crime television or creepy non-fiction shows & while I still watch some of that stuff (the Act is so intense!!!!!), I’ve really cut out all of the true crime stuff. The vibe was feeling a little too heavy.
I love a good binge, so I figured, the time has come I take on the Housewives. I have NEVER watched a full season of any Real Housewives franchise in my life & since everyone is obsessed, I figured it’d be a kinda fun binge with all those seasons dating back to before we even had HD televison! ANCIENT, a true relic.
& this spurred my new obsession.
I am well aware that reality television is so ridiculous, but it’s light entertainment that I can watch while I work cause it doesn’t need my 100% attention. My kind of vibe. Plus, I now know what everyone is talking about.
SO- ever since this crazy Real Housewives can of worms was opened, I have now become a self proclaimed reality tv connoisseur & have put together a little list of the reality shows I am obsessed with at the moment ICYMI.
MY FAVORITE REALITY TV SHOWS OF THE MOMENT
1. Vanderpump Rules
when I first made the decision to binge housewives, I got overwhelmed & eased into it with Vanderpump Rules. This was smart cause it was not as big of a commitment but definitely got me, no pun intended, PUMPED… & having LVP in the show was kind of a gateway drug to the housewives.
2. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Orange County, New York, New Jersey, & Atlanta
… & then the housewives came along. I watched in the order just listed & I have to say my favorite was definitely New Jersey. That was juicy. I loved all of them though & am currently half way through with Atlanta, which will be my last of the franchise I plan to watch. Also- I spaced out each season by watching some other shows in between (listed below). I didn’t go back to back, that would be too intense.
3. Queer eye for the Straight Guy
I gave Zack a break from the drama with a Queer Eye for the Straight Guy marathon. This one isn’t new, we’ve watched every season but the new season just came out & it was SO GOOD. We watched it in like three days.
4. Summer House
& back to the drama! I honestly just stumbled across this show & it was only 3 seasons, so WHY NOT. It is entertaining, kind of like a young housewives with a bunch of rich kids who go to the Hampton’s every weekend. It’s bougie & a hot mess- V ENTERTAINING.
5. Siesta Key
my best friend, Lauryn of The Skinny Confidential, insisted I watch this show & at first, I was confused because it seemed so fake… but I also know Lauryn gets it when it comes to Reality TV. I stuck with it & now I love it. It’s very reminiscent of the Hills, but based in Florida & all the right kinds of cheesy. You end up loving it’s fakeness.
6. Chefs Table
OKAY- this is another one that Zack & I enjoy watching together, and great to watch after you smoke a joint (just being real). It is NOT a cooking show, I hate cooking shows ,& I put off watching this cause that’s what I thought it was. It features a different chef from all over the world, either famous or just really good, & does a little docuseries on them & it is just SO MIND BLOWING. Start with either the Christina Tossi episode or the Jeong Kwan episode (a monk chef!)- thank me later.
7. Keeping up with the Kardashians
I am not typically super religious with KUTWK, but you better believe I am tuning in this season to see the Jordyn Woods drama unfold.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW HILLS TRAILER? Actual chills. I didn’t realize how much I missed this show & it just brought back all the feels. Fingers crossed Audrina & Justin Bobby rekindle their love. Premieres JUNE 24TH!!
(p.s. I am leaving the Bachelor out forever because is it just me, or is it just SO BORING NOW?!)
