I am going through a major marble phase [ x 100 ]. Anything/everything that ever existed made in marble, I want it to be mine… yesterday. I think it’s safe to say that I am not alone in this obsession either, it seems everyone & their Mom is digging marble as of late. Even the backdrop of the Kardashian “confessional” is white marble, & that’s when you know something is officially #trending.
Let’s be honest though, marble ain’t cheap, & I am not a Kardashian. So when I came across the marvelous invention that is marble contact paper… I died & went to straight marble heaven.
Ever since I redid my studio apartment, my bathroom has been in need of a lil’ sprucing to match the rest of my home decor vibes. Especially the countertop situation. I am not a fan of anything being disorganized (sick), so staring at my perfumes just resting on the countertop was making me cringe.
It was actually 2am, my prime time of creativity, when I came up with this project idea. I made my typical voice note in my phone, & the next day I was on it like white on rice. I ordered up all the supplies & within no time I had the chicest perfume tray to ever exist (IMO).
& since I still have more marble contact paper leftover, I am thinking I will make a mini collection for the bathroom. Stay tuned ;).

Supplies::
+ Copper plugs (you can find these at your local hardware store)
Steps::
1. Lay your cutting board on top of your marble contact paper & cut to size (leave about 1/2″ around all edges).
2. Peel off the backing of your contact paper & lay your cutting board on top. Fold the contact paper around the board, as if you’re wrapping a present. Repeat on both sides.
3. Glue on the handles & use a tape measurer to make sure it’s even on both sides. Let dry.
4. Flip your board over & glue on your copper plugs to each corner. Let dry.
TA-DAH. Yup, it’s as easy as that!
This is SO cool – I love it! I need to try this!

Thanks girly <3 xx
If I hadn’t seen the rest of the post I actually would have thought it was genuine marble – looks fantastic! I’ve been a bit put off by some contact paper – some of them can look quite cheap and tacky (mainly wood effect ones) but I do love this one!
Thanks girly :) doesn’t it look so realistic? love!
