First my laptop got marbleized (seen here), now my bar cart. Can you tell I am going through a marble phase?
When I first moved into my place, I was dead set on getting a bar cart in my space. Majority of the cute ones I found online were a bit out of my budget, so I was stoked when I found an affordable one at Target (similar to this one). It was a bronzy gold frame w/ brown wood, which didn’t thrill me, but it did the job.
Last week, I got a burst of creative energy & decided to paint it black & white to match the color scheme of my house. When I finished, it just wasn’t doing it for me. It needed something, but I couldn’t figure out what? Then the lightbulb in my head turned on– I still had white marble contact paper left over! Best.lightbulb.idea.ever.
The finished result was more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. My drab lil’ bar cart just turned into my favorite piece of furniture in my entire house. Perfection.
SO, keep your eyes peeled for a cheap-o bar cart, cause this DIY is too chic & simple to pass up.

The How To:
+ First paint the frame of your bar cart black. Let dry.
+ Lay down a piece of the marble contact paper about the size of the bar cart.
+ Peel off the back of the contact paper, stick it down (try to avoid bubbles!), & cut off the excess with your X-acto knife.
This bar cart tho…. !!!
Absolutely love the finished product! Amazing DIY transformation.
